Emotions need to be managed.

1000172708.png

Hello friends of Holos & Lotus! I hope you are doing well. Today is one of those days when I think that emotions come to tell us things that are important to listen to in time, so we don't fall into a circle of negativity or sadness. Life can feel heavy and even suffocating, but it is normal to be able to let out what we feel, even if it is difficult for us at first. This is what I want to talk about in today's post: emotions and the bravery of letting each one teach us something important, rather than just staying inside us.

When talking about emotions, we can notice that there are some that are pleasant and others that make us feel fear and even weakness. Every emotion hides something that comes to show us what we need to change or heal to improve our lives. And we should never say no to an emotion, because if we don't manage it well, it might come out in other ways that won't be easy or pleasant to deal with.

In the past, I used to cry quite a lot over anything that brought me happiness, sadness, or even anger. It was my way of feeling and letting the emotion out without hurting myself. Some people said I was being overly dramatic or exaggerated. I saw it as something normal, and I still think it is normal to do so unless it becomes an obstacle in our lives and prevents us from living normally.

These days, I think the emotions that come to me the most are sadness and, at the same time, peace. I feel that I can feel very sad, but deep down I know that from everything I experience, there is always a way to move forward. However, I know I haven't allowed myself to take moments to let out what I feel, whether in writing or even with a few tears. And I feel it is so necessary—I think that when I was younger, doing that made me feel calmer and helped me think more clearly.

Lately, we don't give ourselves the time to let out those emotions that might be called "negative." Right now, given what we are experiencing as a country with the power outages, the demands of daily tasks, and the lack of rest and enjoyment we should be able to treat ourselves to once in a while, there is a feeling of frustration and a lot of anger in the air. We all feel this way, or at least I think it's something most of us can feel.

But I believe we shouldn't let negativity overwhelm us. Not everything that happens is eternal—neither the good nor the bad lasts forever, and that gives me a bit of peace. Still, I think it is necessary to sit down, breathe consciously, cry if needed without feeling ashamed, and give ourselves small rewards for all the effort we make every day despite the circumstances. Let's not silence what we feel; let's find a healthy way to let go of what brings nothing good to our inner selves.
