Time will pass anyway.
Hello, friends of Holos & Lotus, receive a big hug from me. Today I would like to talk to you about time; we know it has priceless value and that there is no reverse gear, nor any way to extend the stages of our lives.
Time is extremely valuable, and there are moments we live through that are unique and cannot be repeated. When we are younger, we tend to think we have an infinite amount of time to do everything we want, as if life had no end. But just as we have a day of birth, there is also a day to leave this plane.
We start valuing time a bit late, especially when we have already let opportunities or important moments pass us by. When it comes to living one day at a time, I think it is the best way to be present and to hold onto those memories we create with our surroundings, family, and friends.
At certain moments in my life, I feel I didn't enjoy the present instant—I think because of the very fears and doubts inside me. I held myself back a lot from enjoying the present; I let many days pass without doing things I enjoyed or that gave meaning to my life. It wasn't until about three years ago that I began to realize that time had passed and I hadn't made the best use of the present.
Now I think differently: every time I know I have to make a decision, I remember that I have already refrained from doing things because of limiting ideas or beliefs, and I allow myself the opportunity to try, even if I might make mistakes or things don't turn out as expected. And that is what life is about: living every moment the best way we can, without holding back just because we think it isn't worth the effort.
There are many things I have achieved in recent years that make me realize the potential I have, but also how little trust I give myself to do things well. These are insecurities typical of age and immaturity, though I consider myself a mature and conscious person; I know there are things I need to improve.
And well, time is a gift that only allows us to live moments once; no two days are alike, and no moments can be repeated. Just as we are surrounded by our loved ones today, they might not be here later, or we might no longer be on this plane ourselves. I learned this through the loss of loved ones, and it made me realize how essential it is to live and make the most of the love we can give.
Love needs to be remembered every day, not just through words, but through actions as well. Every day I try to make sure those close and dear to me feel heard and accompanied. I feel this is something very valuable; both time and knowing how to appreciate it while living each moment are important, so that we don't look back later thinking we could have done something for others or for ourselves, but let it slip away thinking we had more time.
By living today in a fully conscious way—without setting aside the small details like a hug or a few words that made us feel good—we would already begin to truly appreciate the value of time, of moments, and of our presence in this world full of surprises, joys, and difficult moments that also come to make us appreciate our present moment.
