The longest journey called life.

1000191406.png

Hello friends of Empowertalent, I hope you are having a good week. Today I wanted to join the Journey initiative, looking at it from the point of view of a transition between who we were and who we want to be. Throughout our entire lives, we are on a constant journey or movement that allows us to experiment and have experiences in different ways. One of them is the internal journey, the one that takes our entire existence and can be more complicated than it seems, until we become aware.

To reach this point in my life, I had to go through many situations and uncomfortable moments. If we don't go through those moments of discomfort that take us out of our comfort zone, we would truly never have the idea of wanting to be better people. And it is hard work that requires patience and a lot of willpower; it is not easy to put aside limiting beliefs and the desires for change while remaining in the same place or being the same person.

This journey over the last five years taught me that I hadn't experienced anything compared to what would come afterward up until today. I am a person who likes stability and clear things, which is why when the word change exists, it can generate a sense of uncertainty for me. But during this journey, I have gotten to know parts of myself that perhaps I would have never looked at closely if it hadn't been for going through those moments of discomfort, but I am grateful to have become more aware of my path.

The longest journey I have walked is learning to accept things as they are, not as I would like them to be. It is a thought of great maturity and emotional intelligence; things won't always turn out as I expected, or people won't act as I would like. And that is completely normal; what I must do is recognize what my limits are and continue learning to listen to my emotions and my intuition, since I think the latter never fails when it comes to an important message.

That is how I have been learning to let go, especially of beliefs I had about myself, about how I should be, or what would truly make me happy. And it is a process that becomes a journey of no return, because after you understand that you are the only one who can build or destroy your life, you have the responsibility to make decisions—even if they feel uncomfortable—to have the life you have always wanted. And even though you shed a lot of skin and it feels like falling into a void, it is necessary for our own well-being.

So I would say that the longest journey I have had is with my own self; every day I learn something new about myself. Emotions and intuition always tell me what I need to do—whether I pay attention to them or not is another story. But it is a long-term effort, of looking at my shadows and not beating myself up over how I am doing things. The idea is to keep moving forward, with the conviction that things can improve because I decide so and I make it happen through small habits or actions that lead me to be the person I want to be. And you, what kind of journey are you on, and how have you been navigating this journey called life?
