I found a vast contrast between Tokyo and Osaka; Tokyo I find it more sophisticated whereas Osaka a little wild and loud. As such even parts of Tokyo like Shinjuku and Shibuya are loud and messy but Osaka has a different vibe. I was there in the evening time and that's the best time. As the light start coming up and before it gets dark at the Dotonbori street, it feels kind of a magic in the air. Day time is not that lively as the evening time. By the time I reached there, the whole street had woken up. Before getting on to the street, I went to one of their most famous outlets, Don Quijote.

Don Quijote is a very popular discount chain known for its penguin mascot,multi-level layouts, and massive selection of snacks, cosmetics, electronics, and souvenirs. Some of the outlets also have clothing options, but they are ok, nothing great. I picked up a lot of gifting items from here, so by the time we finished we had heavy bags with us. The Dotonbori street was around 50 to 100 meters away from the store so after finishing it was the next stop.

I must say that Dotonbori street is a sensory overload. You cannot miss the giant yellow Don Quijote building with the Ferris Wheel. The one we visited is a different one. Got to see this only after reaching the spot. At night the Ferris wheel cabins glow up in green.

Dotonbori street is fully lit up and then there is the Dotonbori Canal, with little boats drifting by. On the side, there are restaurants serving some local food and then there is also music. It is one of the most happening places in Osaka. We did not have any specific plan, it was just a leisure evening.

There was this street food all around the place, we ordered some grilled prawns. We already had a dinner plan after this so did not want to stuff up too much.
