It may sound funny but it's a fact, I believe that as an adult when you want to have children, parenting is something you should be confident but it is one thing that we never know completely until we have our children and we start going through the parenting journey, which till then probably we thought we knew everything about it.

Parenting is something that just keeps changing with time and age. When your child is small you have a certain way of dealing with them, and sooner then you realize they become teenagers and that same way of dealing with them does not work, you have to unlearn and learn parenting all over again. As they step in to adulthood, it's the same story; the parenting way has to again change. From front foot you have to get in to back foot, and allow your child to get ahead of you. Trust me, it's very difficult. For all those years they have been in your shadow and now they want to fly independently. They are ready for it but as a parent you are not. And you need to figure out how to deal with that all over again.

As you get very old, your child suddenly becomes your parent, and you have to learn to accept that as well. At every phase of parenting, you unlearn and learn all over it again. I have had major challenges with my son's different phases of growing up, and I am still dealing with it. My son tells me some times, Mom, learn to accept I am a grown-up man now. It's difficult to take a back foot. I have learned to pause and think and rethink about my actions and words with him. But these stages of unlearning and learning do not change the equation between us, nor the love between us get any less. We both try to understand each other and put our point across and discuss the situation.

Yes, I am figuring out my new phase of parenting and I am going well with it, but there are moments when I am not at my best.

A free day and unlimited budget, the most dangerous thing. As much as I would want to go out and splurge all that money, but I am at that stage of life where every penny feels important to me, and more than spending, saving is on the mind. So, in short, if I would have a day like this, I would spend time at home may be reading or watching movie and where the money is concerned, I would save up that money and invest it in something that promises to grow, like Gold. Or yes, I can go for Gold shopping and increase my Gold savings.

Actually, that would be perfect, I will spend all the money on buying Gold.

So true, honestly I feel like you never really stop learning parenting, it just keeps going until the day they start parenting you haha. I am kind of at that stage now with my preteen, and just when I think I finally figured it out, everything changes again. It moves so much faster than I can keep up with. Your post made me feel a little less alone in it

in the aspect of a f4ee satird with unlimited budget what if the money is only valid for 24 hours?

I remember the moment the roles of my Mother and I flipped. It was a day that she had finally come to grips with her mental deterioration, and I assumed the role as her 'Parent', since I had the medical training and invoking her Enduring Power of Attorney legally puts me in the position of making decisions on her behalf. As for my Sons, I have already acknowledged them as independent adults though they still live with me. !LOL ❤️

Gold, keep saving some of that cash into gold @nainaztengra. I still accumulate some gold even as I am now on a fixed post employment income. My old frugal habits haven't changed much and I bought several nice outfits, all thrifted second hand spending far less than buying brand new. Enjoying the thrill of the shopping hunt.

Parenting is a constant learning challenge that never ends... It sounds like you've accepted that and are doing great. Just like growing to adulthood, life is all about growth and change. For the better or worse.

Very true - parenting is such a challenging role. Every day we learn somethimg new with children. At times even children are right. Nice one.
