Couple of months back, hubby had received a gift voucher of a 1-night stay at Kempinski Hotel here in Muscat. During summer these hotels do a lot of sponsors to the corporates. As it is, the occupancy is very less between the months of May to Sept. The Voucher was valid until 30th Sept only so we just this last weekend to utilize. He had received this voucher somewhere in May only, but during that time I did not want to go. It's peak summer months and even evenings are not pleasant. Right now, also the heat is still there but comparatively better.
We reached to hotel, of course the lobby is impressive. The welcome was warm, staff extra courteous and even though it was a voucher stay, they attended us like a how they would to a full paid customer. We were offered a welcome drink. First of all, these vouchers they give are not valid to be used over the weekends, but hubby had spoken to them and requested if they could consider, and without any fuss, they honored our request. At the check-in counter, the staff was very cordial. The voucher rooms are the back side rooms, but hubby requested if we could get a sea-facing room. I was not expecting they would entertain our request, but to my surprise again without any fuss she honored our request.
The sea-facing room we requested was not ready, so she asked us if we could wait for around 45 minutes. It was worth it to wait and get a room with a view; we agreed. Since it was a 45 minutes wait, the attendant told us we could proceed to the lounge and we can have beverages which were offered complimentary to us. Trust me, I was again surprised. I was only thinking that on my free stay, I was getting add ons with no charges absolutely. These are the magical moments that Universe gives me which I always say. We were made feel special, not even once it felt like we had come on a free stay. The next day, breakfast was also included in the stay.

When the rooms were ready, one of the staff reached out to us and escorted us all the way to our room. This is what differentiates some of these hotels from the rest and makes them the best. This is my second time stay in Kempinski and it is as beautiful as the first one, which was of course a paid one. I have stayed in many 5 Stars, but not everyone has the same service and class.
