I do not remember when I joined WhatsApp, but yes, it's been a long time now. The most convenient thing I found at the time of joining. Problem is that I do not like to make phone calls and make lengthy conversations, so for me WhatsApp is ideal, I leave a text message or a voice note to give my message. But somewhere on the way WhatsApp from a tool of convenience became a tool of entertainment.
Everyone wants to make groups on WhatsApp, there is family, school, office, friends, activity and what not groups, and these groups keep going on 24x7. In some groups there are people sitting in all the different parts of the world, so with the different time zones the group is all the time active. Nowadays even the schools have WhatsApp groups for the teachers to coordinate with parents. It's all convenience but at the same time becomes nuisance.
I ordered a food dish from a caterer, and since then every day she sends me 10 messages promoting her stuff daily, the same happens with everyone, one thing you buy and then their messages just do not stop. Then there are these Good Mornings and Good Nights which some people religiously send it every single day. It's difficult for me to understand why do they get stuck up in these patterns. Sometimes there is no other communication then good morning and good night all through the year. Sometimes I long for a meaningful message from someone.
90% of what comes on WhatsApp is junk, either their promotion messages where someone is always on the run to sell something, or there are these family groups where some family members are always snapping on each other. Then there are some of these people who have no communication to make but just keep sending Insta reels what they have looked at. How can I also forget the building and society groups, where water is not coming, Wi-Fi is not working and some or the other problem with one another all the time persists. Then there are some people on the group who do not need any groups; they are a group by themselves.
In all of this chaos, sometimes when there is a message of importance it does get loss easily. I have muted all the groups; at the end of the day, I just mark them as read. On the groups, I am that group member who will appear on your birthdays and anniversaries to wish, else rest of the time I am quiet. If I have something to communicate with anyone on the group, I do it personally and not on the group.
Sometimes I find these WhatsApp groups annoying, noisy and completely avoidable.
