One Good Deed, A Ripple of Kindness

Some people say they owe no one anything in luge because no one has ever helped them in their lives. I can’t say same because without the people in my life, I don’t know what I would have done with my life and where I would be today. We all were born into families which are meant to be there for us, nurture us and support us in this life’s journey. Unfortunately, not everyone is fortunate to have this. Some people grew up with no parents or even a known relative. Others knew their family but they don’t have any support whatsoever from then. Then there’s those who are born in families that will go to heaven and back for them just to make sure they are okay. I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth, but I can say that I have the best parents I could ever wish for.

There are days things were hard but I never even knew because my parents never made me feel I was lacking. Even as old as I am, sometimes I know things are not going on well but mom and dad always hold the fort. This thought me one thing in life and it’s that, everything will fall in place at the right time, you just have to truth God. I was always thought by my family and people around me to be kind to others and help them in any way I can. I consider myself as someone with a very soft heart. Little things move me and I very much hate seeing others suffer when I can help. Even when I can’t help, i find a way to connect with people who can help in that situation. I believe that in this life, we rise by lifting others.

So many people have shown me kindness in so many ways and I appreciate every bit of it. One act of kindness that stood out for me was something that happen a few weeks ago. I was involved in a very tragic accident where I could have lost my life. I was left lying by the side of the road while people stood over me without helping. I could feel blood in my eye and pain in my head. But then, I could feel people standing over me without helping. Then out of nowhere, someone stepped in to help by sacking everyone and rushing me to hospital . I later on found out, these very kind people was a mutual friend and his wife. These were people I didn’t know much about. Aside the normal greetings and pleasantries, we don’t really talk much. They didn’t even know I was the one involved in the accident until we got to the hospital. You can literally tell these are people with hearts of Gold.

They stayed with me at the hospital until I was attended to, received treatment and got discharged. They even went further to check up on me on the daily basis and my progress. This alone always made me shed tears because how do I ever thank these people for what they did for me. Everyday as o step out, I say a prayer for them and look forward to helping others in my own little way. It’s the least I can do because I can’t count the number of times strangers and people I know have come through for me. If this isn’t God extending a hand to me, I don’t know what it is.

Having people around you that do care and you listen to them is a good thing really. Family is everything to me too
