Happy Sunday, blog friends—how are you? Here I am again to share a bit about my life. Yesterday was another busy day: various errands, household chores, and sorting through things we still need to organize after the move—especially documents for our new lawyer. Let's hope this one handles our case better than the last one, who just wasted our time and money. Things still aren't easy, but my husband is doing a bit better, which is great; in fact, he came along for almost all the errands yesterday, so at least he got out of the house for a while. He’ll be going back to work soon, so we’re trying to make the most of the time we have left before he returns. Anyway, while we were out and about in Pistoia and the surrounding area—shopping for groceries, picking up tobacco, printing documents for the lawyer, and getting medication for my mother-in-law (who has nasty gallstones and is waiting for surgery)—we also took a moment to relax and visit my mother, @silviabebeneforti, and my stepfather, @paolobeneforti, at their art studio next to their home.
Feliz domingo, amigos del blog: ¿cómo están? Aquí estoy de nuevo para compartirles un poco sobre mi vida. Ayer fue otro día ajetreado: varios recados, tareas domésticas y la organización de cosas pendientes tras la mudanza, especialmente documentos para nuestro nuevo abogado. Esperemos que este lleve nuestro caso mejor que el anterior, que solo nos hizo perder tiempo y dinero. La situación sigue sin ser fácil, pero mi esposo está un poco mejor, lo cual es genial; de hecho, me acompañó a casi todos los recados ayer, así que al menos salió de casa un rato. Pronto volverá al trabajo, así que intentamos aprovechar al máximo el tiempo que nos queda antes de su regreso. En fin, mientras recorríamos Pistoia y sus alrededores —haciendo la compra, comprando tabaco, imprimiendo documentos para el abogado y buscando medicamentos para mi suegra (que sufre de cálculos biliares dolorosos y está a la espera de una cirugía)—, también nos tomamos un momento para relajarnos y visitar a mi madre, @silviabebeneforti, y a mi padrastro, @paolobeneforti, en su estudio de arte, situado junto a su casa.
Once we arrived at my mother's place, we immediately had a nice coffee; my mother and I are alike in this—coffee and a cigarette are a must. We really ought to quit someday—smoking is bad for you—but giving it up is incredibly hard. Being a true cat lover, I took the opportunity to snap some photos of her cat, Nanny; she’s absolutely beautiful, chubby, and much more sociable than their other, smaller cat, who always runs off when she sees us. We had a simple snack of mortadella and then sat down for a chat to catch up on each other's lives. It had been a while since I’d visited my mother due to the intense heat, but temperatures have dropped now, making it much more pleasant. She lent me a few books; luckily, reading is a hobby the whole family shares—we’re all avid readers. Naturally, I also took the chance to photograph the house and the studio. They always hold lovely surprises, featuring paintings by my mother and Paolo, as well as works by their students; their own creations, scattered throughout the house, are truly unique and charming. We spent a few hours there drinking coffee, chatting, and recommending books and TV series to one another. It’s nice to spend quiet time with family; now that the weather has improved, I think I’ll visit them more often. By evening, we were a bit tired and didn't do much—just a walk followed by some cooking. I’ll be posting the recipe for last night’s dish here on Hive very soon. Nada más llegar a casa de mi madre, nos tomamos un buen café; en esto nos parecemos: el café y el cigarrillo son imprescindibles. Deberíamos dejarlo algún día —fumar es perjudicial—, pero es increíblemente difícil hacerlo. Como gran amante de los gatos, aproveché para sacar unas fotos a la suya, Nanny; es preciosa, gordita y mucho más sociable que el otro gato, más pequeño, que siempre sale corriendo en cuanto nos ve. Tomamos un aperitivo sencillo de mortadela y luego nos sentamos a charlar y ponernos al día. Hacía tiempo que no visitaba a mi madre debido al calor intenso, pero ahora las temperaturas han bajado y el ambiente es mucho más agradable. Me prestó algunos libros; por suerte, la lectura es una afición que compartimos toda la familia: todos somos lectores ávidos. Como era de esperar, también aproveché para fotografiar la casa y el estudio. Siempre esconden sorpresas encantadoras, con cuadros de mi madre y de Paolo, así como obras de sus alumnos; sus propias creaciones, repartidas por toda la casa, son realmente únicas y tienen mucho encanto. Pasamos allí unas horas tomando café, charlando y recomendándonos libros y series. Es agradable pasar momentos tranquilos en familia; ahora que el tiempo ha mejorado, creo que los visitaré más a menudo. Al llegar la tarde estábamos algo cansados y no hicimos gran cosa: solo un paseo y luego algo de cocina. Muy pronto publicaré aquí, en Hive, la receta del plato que preparamos anoche.
