Hi, everyone! Today, I’m going to show you how to make a quick snack for when you’re feeling hungry. I think this will be a fun idea to try at home. It uses a variety of simple ingredients—all of which are easy to find around the house.
This snack is made by combining instant noodles and spinach. Then, it’s fried until crispy—the unique flavor offers a new and unusual way to enjoy instant noodles. Well, to satisfy your curiosity, I’ll share the recipe below!
The ingredients are easy to find anywhere, and you can adjust them to what’s readily available in your country. For example, with instant noodles, you can use any brand you have on hand.
Here are some ingredients you’ll need to prepare:
1 packet of instant noodles 1 egg 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 5 spinach stalks (use only the leaves) 1 clove of red onion 2 cloves of garlic 2 bird’s eye chilies 1 stalk of green onion Water as needed ¼ teaspoon salt Seasoning (instant noodle seasoning packet)
Preparation Steps
The steps for preparing this dish are quite easy; I just need to do some initial prep work. Then there’s the frying stage, which takes time to ensure even cooking over low heat. Here’s how to do it.
First, I chop the spinach—just coarsely, so you can still taste the spinach when it’s fried. Next, finely chop the green onions at the same time; set the spinach aside first.
I boil the Indomie noodles until tender, let them cool completely, and leave them whole so they’ll hold their shape nicely.
Mix the chopped spinach and green onions, then add the egg and flour
I add shallots, garlic, and chili peppers that have been blended with water. Mix everything until well combined—don’t forget to add salt and seasoning or instant noodle seasoning.
Finally, fry in plenty of oil over low heat until golden brown or until the noodles are thoroughly cooked, crispy, and no longer starchy inside.
Serving
Serve this instant noodle snack while it’s hot on a serving plate; you can dip it in sauce or whatever you like. Look at the result—the spinach and instant noodles go together perfectly. This is the first time I’ve enjoyed a snack prepared this crispy.
However, you should know that this dish can also be enjoyed with warm white rice. It has a savory flavor with a hint of spiciness from the chili peppers. What I like most is the taste of the banyam—after it’s fried, it becomes savory and incredibly crispy; it tastes absolutely delicious. It’s perfect as a quick snack when you’re hungry. If you enjoy fried snacks, try making a snack like this at home.
