House of Wax is a film from way back in 2005 with a very teen-group dynamic that, in turn, reminded me of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre in its intense effort to give a character or villain an exotic, grotesque, yet familiar quality—but based on the wax for this movie. Personally, I’d never seen a story where the wax is the protagonist, and boy, do I think they did a great job with this, especially with the practical effects, set design, which I always love to see 🤩🤩

El film realiza este casting para aprovechar su elemento influencer que estaba muy en tendencia por aquellos años para unirlo al Terror de una historia que destaca por la inventiva, esa creatividad de usar un componente atipico que es la sera como elemento de Terror, lo cual da una atmosfera bastante derretida, letal y llena de personalidad al ambiente de lo que se quiere contar 🕯️🕯️
House of Wax es un film del ya lejano año 2005 con una dinamica muy grupal adolescente que a su vez me recordo a Masacre de Texas al esforzarse mucho en darle a un individuo o villano una propiedad exotica grotesca familiar pero basado en la cera para esta pelicula, en mi caso nunca habia visto una historia donde el protagonista sea la cera y vaya que pienso hicieron un gran trabajo con esto, sobre todo en la escenografia de efectos practicos que siempre encanta ver 🤩🤩

Para aquellos que no la han visto pero saben plenamente quien es Paris Hilton, el Trailer tambien explota muy bien este casting, disfruta el protagonismo bien marcado que tiene ella porque vaya que se roba las camaras jaja, en aquellos tiempos no me gustaba tanto pero cuando la vi aqui, vaya que sale muy linda y por cierto muy juiciosa, el personaje se hace querer aunque fuese querido ver mas de ella en el coro grupal protagonico que ofrece la pelicula

He has a backstory, but it wasn’t explored as I’d have liked; the young main cast takes up too much screen time and plot because they want to watch a game that isn’t interesting—this is my biggest criticism
There are too many characters scattered across too many distant locations who are brought together by the script power for no real logical reason—it just happens. The way each pair of characters—there are three pairs… plus the villains—fits together makes absolutely no sense 😵💫😵💫
That’s where the film goes overboard with silly teen subplots… and fails to fully explore the story of the House of Wax—which is what the movie is actually titled after. We get there halfway through the film, and its past is explored, though in my opinion, very superficially.
I loved the ending—setting aside how forced it is, haha—but the finale is pure spectacle. Watching things and beings melt is something original that the movie can boast about, something very few films have 🫠🫠👍🏻

Tiene un pasado pero no se abordo como fuese querido, el grupo juvenil protagonista consume demasiado tiempo de camara e historia porque quieren ver un juego que no interesa, esto es lo que mas tengo a criticar
Son demasiados personajes dispersos por demasiadas zonas alejadas que se unen por la obra y gracia del guion a por que sí y ya, carece totalmente de sentido la forma en que se engrana cada pareja de personajes que son tres parejas.... Mas una de villanos 😵💫😵💫
Alli es donde el film exagera en tramas adolescentes bobas.... y se pierde el dejar de explorar al maximo La historia de la Casa de Sera que es lo que verdaderamente da titulo a la pelicula, llegamos alli a mitad del film y se explora su pasado lo que para mi fue muy superficialmente
Final que me encanto, dejando de lado lo forzado que tiene jaja, pero el desenlace es escenografia pura, el ver derretir las cosas y los seres es algo original de lo que puede presumir la pelicula que muy pocas tienen 🫠🫠👍🏻
