Going for a walk is a relaxing activity; in my case, staying home for too long makes me feel restless, so I need to get out and discover life beyond these four walls. With that in mind, I headed to Fernández de Serpa Avenue, since I knew major renovations had been carried out there, especially to the landscaping.

I took a bus from Plaza Ayacucho to reach my destination; it was a little past five in the afternoon, and I didn’t want to miss the sunset in this area. The views from there are breathtaking, although I think time got the better of me this time, and I missed the colorful sky created by the sunset in this area.

Anyway, I set off and arrived at the roundabout. There used to be a yellow metallic sculpture here, which wasn’t very eye-catching. This roundabout is a real landmark because it’s located near the Police Headquarters, the fire station, and the Sucre Polyclinic.

Now the roundabout has been completely restored; a huge palm tree has replaced the sculpture, giving the area a fresh new feel and bringing visitors into contact with nature. The gardens feature new, very modern designs that evoke ocean waves. Of course, I took the opportunity to snap a few photos to commemorate the moment.

Being here made me appreciate even more the time I spend in nature—moments that bring me joy and allow me to capture wonderful images. I like this place; the combination of the urban and the natural makes for a pleasant experience. So, I went out for a walk and had a wonderful time.

Salir a caminar es una actividad relajante, en lo particular permanecer en casa durante mucho tiempo me causa incomodidad, por ello se hace necesario abrir la puerta y descubrir la vida más allá de las paredes. Con esto en mente me dirigí a la Avenida Fernández de Serpa, pues sabía que habían realizado importantes remodelaciones, sobre todo ornamentales.

Tomé un autobús en la plaza Ayacucho para llegar a mi destino, era un poco más de las cinco de la tarde y no quería perderme el atardecer en esta zona. Las imágenes desde allí lucen impresionantes, aunque creo que esta vez el tiempo me ganó y me perdí el cielo colorido que provoca el ocaso del sol en esta área.

Igual emprendí mi camino y llegué a la redoma, acá antes se encontraba una escultura metalizada en color amarillo, la cual no era muy llamativa. Esta redoma es todo un referente porque tiene cerca a la Comandancia de Policía, el cuartel de Bomberos y la Policlínica Sucre.

Ahora la redoma está completamente restaurada, una enorme palmera sustituyó a la escultura, se respira un nuevo aire y se está en contacto con la naturaleza. Los jardines presentan nuevos diseños muy modernos que evocan las olas del mar. Por supuesto que aproveché la oportunidad para tomarme algunas fotografías para rememorar este momento.

Estar acá me hizo valorar aún más el tiempo que paso en contacto con la naturaleza, instantes que me generan placer y me permiten capturar imágenes maravillosas. Me gusta este espacio, la combinación de lo urbano con lo vegetal concede una contemplación agradable. Así pues, salí un rato a caminar y viví una grata experiencia.
