Going with the flow is fine; I’ve been trying to put it into practice because I tend to be very rigid and quite methodical. I like to anticipate every possible outcome, and that really holds me back. Unlike my siblings, who do whatever they want or whatever comes their way—even if they have no idea how to do it or handle it—and then figure out how to learn as they go. That’s incredibly hard for me—just the thought of jumping into something without knowing how things work causes me a lot of stress. I’m one of those people who believes that to go into battle, we have to know the terrain. However, my siblings are doing very well, and I’m stuck in a rut, so I decided to change the way I do things.
So I took the plunge and did something without knowing much about it, and it went wonderfully—surprisingly so—because I’d never had a success on that scale before, but now I feel overwhelmed by all the pressure that comes with that responsibility. I’ve had to learn as I go, and it’s terrible; I’ve constantly felt like it’s too much for me, and I feel like I’m going to make a huge mistake at any moment. I know you learn from your mistakes, but it’s different when it comes to a service.

To make a long story short, a while back I told you that I wanted to start a project to see how it would go, and it went well, but now I’m not sure which specific path to take. This project involves helping people shop online, and I’m afraid that a problem might arise that I won’t be able to fix. I’ve never had any problems with my own purchases, but the thought of someone else having a bad experience under my supervision makes me very anxious.
Anyone who has worked in customer service can relate to this: when you tell someone how to do something and it goes wrong (even if it’s their own mistake), many react very aggressively and blame you for what happened. That’s why, even though I have the knowledge and experience, my insecurity holds me back. It’s a bit ironic, since there’s a lot of talk here about that topic and how to deal with it; I’ve read about it more than a couple of times, but putting it into practice is very difficult.
Despite everything, I'm going to keep going because it's something I've already started, and I don't want to leave it half done. I started this project because I saw how many people were being scammed due to a lack of knowledge, and I wanted to help them—but I know that not everything will turn out perfectly, and that’s what scares me. Right now, I realize that bad experiences keep haunting me, but I’m going to keep going—keep going because I’ve already set my mind to it and because I want to better myself.
Maybe things won't turn out well, but nothing is perfect in this life, and the paths to anything worthwhile aren't easy. I'll probably have a hard time, and that terrifies me, but what terrifies me even more is doing nothing and being left with the uncertainty, so I'll keep going while carrying my fears. I hope you, too, will do everything you set out to do, even if you have doubts, because there will always be someone there to support you.
