(ESP-ENG)My experience crocheting my first amigurumi🥰🍄❤️🪄

Holis gente bonita|Hello beautiful people🥰

I'm happy to be here sharing my very first amigurumi with all of you. A long time ago, in this same community, I shared my first crochet project—a cute burgundy hairband. It was a simple project, but it meant so much to me. After that first project, I couldn't continue practicing and learning due to a lack of materials, but thank God, I've finally picked up my practice again.

As you could see on the cover, my first amigurumi is a little mushroom 🍄, and I made it as a gift for my niece, who really loves mushrooms—in fact, her birthday theme was all about mushrooms! To be honest, I expected my next crochet project to be a beanie or something similar, because I felt an amigurumi would be too difficult for a beginner. However, wanting to give my niece something special made me want to try, even though I didn't have the right materials.

Because yes, I used basic craft yarn for this project! I know it’s not the best material, but you have to admit that for learning, practicing, and even making a sweet gift for a loved one, it got the job done really well. So from now on, I won't look down on any material ☺️ Of course, if I had to choose, I’d stick with a good quality yarn for my projects, since the material obviously makes a huge difference in the final look and finish. But without further ado, I invite you to keep reading about my adventure crocheting my first amigurumi!

Colgante y decoración/Pendant and decoration

1000335540.jpg

For the hanging loop, I just crocheted 25 chains and left a long tail of yarn to insert it into the mushroom later.

After attaching the loop, I sewed on some beads. Truth be told, I would have loved to use half-flat pearls, but you know how I am—I work with whatever I have! 😊

1000335541.jpg

After decorating and attaching the hanging loop, I joined both pieces together using single crochets, and right before finishing closing it up, I added the synthetic stuffing. I was so nervous during this part! Even though I had made both the mushroom top and the base with the matching 30 stitches, I was still afraid the stitches wouldn't line up and it wouldn't close properly—classic beginner nerves! But honestly, everything aligned perfectly and I was the happiest person in the world. 🎉 It's these small victories that make me feel so proud and happy. 🥰

ROUND 1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6)

ROUND 2: Inc in each st around (12)

ROUND 3: [1 sc, inc] x6 (18)

ROUNDS 4–5: 1 sc in each st around (18)

Unión

1000335544.jpg

Before joining the stem to the mushroom, we first stuff the stem with synthetic fiberfill, but not too much so it doesn't get in the way when attaching the pieces. Using a tapestry needle (I don't actually have a proper tapestry needle, so I used the closest thing I could find at home), I attached the stem to the mushroom. As you know, I finished the stem with 12 stitches, so on the blue base of the mushroom, I located Round 2 (which also has 12 stitches) and sewed both pieces together stitch by stitch. Before closing it completely, I added a bit more stuffing, and that's it!

1000037741.png

1000335545.jpg

And this was the result! While joining the pieces, I was once again afraid that the stitches wouldn't line up, but thank God everything matched up perfectly. This is what my very first amigurumi looks like! Honestly, I’m so happy I took the leap. I feel like this has been the year of daring to try things without feeling fully ready, and that's really what it’s all about—because we'll never feel completely ready, so we just have to take the leap anyway! 🥰🤭

And that's all for today, if you like me don't forget to give love to my post by leaving a nice comment or clicking on the little heart. 💜😉😊🤭🥰 See you in a next post, be well and God bless you, bye.🥰😘💜🌹🪷
