Holis gente bonita|Hello beautiful people🥰

Today I want to share with you my experience making my first bouquet of eternal roses. This isn't a tutorial, but rather my experience; here I'm going to tell you about my mistakes and how I solved them, but it's not a tutorial at all. I made this bouquet for a friend's grandmother's birthday. It wasn't a paid commission, she just asked me for the favor of making it and I accepted because she bought all the materials for me. Although it wasn't a paid commission, I saw a great opportunity to practice since I don't have the budget to buy all the materials I need for my practice. 🤭

Of course, she was well aware that I had never made a bouquet of eternal roses before, but she knows I love crafts, so she decided to take a chance and trust me 🥰—and I’m so grateful to her for that. This project really helped me step out of my comfort zone, although to be honest, halfway through the process I actually thought, 'I regret accepting this,' because I swear I felt like I wasn't going to pull it off. But thank God, I made it through, and I'm so happy I took on the challenge—especially considering I only had 5 days to do it! 💓

Now, without further ado, I invite you to keep reading the rest of the post, where I'll be listing the materials I used and detailing the step-by-step process of this craft. 🥰

✨Paso a paso|Step-by-step✨

1000329247.jpg

First, I organized myself to make all the roses in assembly-line fashion. This time, I won't be showing the step-by-step process of how I assemble the roses because I already shared that in a previous post. Since there were 9 roses—3 yellow, 3 blue, and 3 red, yes, the flag of my beautiful Venezuela!—I first cut out all the pieces for each color. As I made small 8-petal roses, I needed 24 pieces to make the 3 roses of each color. Then, with the help of a candle, I sealed all the pieces and started assembling each petal. Doing that continuously was truly exhausting; my neck suffered a bit, so I tried not to stay in the same position for too long.

1000329248.jpg

And that's how my nine roses turned out! Each one was a challenge, as I tried not to repeat the same mistakes on the next one. Honestly, making them in assembly-line fashion is super productive—it goes so much faster, and if you're still practicing and perfecting your technique, it's a very efficient way to do it.

Next, it was time to assemble the bouquet. I saw many methods in videos—some with a styrofoam base, some without one—but considering my inexperience, I figured a styrofoam base was best for me. First, I tried doing it with just a small styrofoam base at the bottom, so I joined two pieces of styrofoam together to give it more height and started placing the flowers there, then secured it tightly with adhesive tape. The downside was that the flowers ended up all crammed together at the top, so I had to resort to something else to fix that problem.

1000037741.png

1000329255.jpg

So I had to take it all apart and make a base at the top as well. I cut out a circle of styrofoam, glued a piece of cardboard of the same size to it, and wrapped it with crepe paper. To make sure it would work, I first cut out the cardboard piece and arranged all the flowers on it; the first circle I cut was too big, so I had to cut another one—trial and error. Then, when I got the perfect size and saw that all the flowers fit well, I cut the styrofoam piece using the cardboard size as a guide. After that, I assembled it again with both the top and bottom bases. As you can see in the image, I wrapped the bottom base with cardstock.

When it came to wrapping the bouquet, I also ran into several issues. First, I only ordered one sheet of Korean wrapping paper—talk about being a beginner! 🤣 So I had to buy another sheet, but the hard part wasn't buying it, it was finding the exact same shade as the paper I already had. Since I didn't have time to go back to the same store, I had to buy it somewhere close to my house. I couldn't find the exact same shade, but luckily I found a very similar one, thank God!

Then I had to deal with the Korean wrapping paper. I didn't know it was a bit tricky to fold, so I had to struggle with it a little, but I managed. Usually, from what I saw in the videos, you need two and a half sheets for a 7-rose bouquet, but since my bouquet was made of small roses, I only needed one and a half sheets.

In another post, God willing, I'll show you the step-by-step process of how I learned to cut and fold the Korean wrapping paper to wrap the bouquet.

1000329257.jpg

I wrapped the top part of the bouquet, and also the bottom part with another piece of Korean wrapping paper. It was quite a challenge; now that I think about it, I feel like it was hard to wrap the bottom part properly—I'm not sure if maybe I should have added one more piece of Korean wrapping paper. I'll find that out in the next bouquet I'm planning to make.

As a finishing touch, I added a yellow ribbon and a bow of the same color. It was a day full of learning since I didn't know how to make that bow, but I had to figure it out, and to my surprise, it was super easy! 🤭 As you can see in the picture, I placed 8 half-pearls on the blue roses, representing the 8 stars of the flag, and I also added some small daisies—though, let me tell you, I learned how to make those daisies that very same day too! 🤣 I'll show you how to make them in a separate tutorial. I honestly had to improvise because those spaces had left an awkward gap, so to speak, so I used those little daisies to cover them up. 🤭

And this was the result! 🥰 I loved my first bouquet of eternal roses, warts and all—despite its mistakes and hiccups. I really enjoyed accepting the challenge and stepping out of my comfort zone; it was something I genuinely needed, and it helped me so much to start trusting my abilities more. Because sometimes it's very easy to say, 'I don't have experience, I don't know how to do many things, I'm not capable,' but that's simply because we don't dare to go beyond our comfort zone out of fear. So I'm really glad that this time, I overcame that fear. 🥰

And that's all for today, if you like me don't forget to give love to my post by leaving a nice comment or clicking on the little heart. 💜😉😊🤭🥰 See you in a next post, be well and God bless you, bye.🥰😘💜🌹🪷
