An happy Saturday to all hivers here!
Later in the afternoon I'll go to a small village close to my city called Sammommè because my hubby @paolobeneforti will teach open air art to some people there. During this hot Summer we went to do the same in some other small village where the air is cooler than in my city. I like to spend some hours in those beautiful little places, because they remind me my childhood when I lived in a similar small village. This makes me think about how important is to live a simpler life enjoying the little simple things, without a constant stress or too much anxiety, not always connected by social media and more talk and chat face to face.
I'm old enough to remember the time when no one had a smartphone (to be honest, when I was a child my family had no telephone at home! 😁), but my mom perfectly knew where I was in every moment because every mom in the village took a look to every kids along the alleys. As the same way, everyone knew when someone needed something and the most part of people who had a veggie garden used to exchange the products to have other things.
Kids of the village used to play outside all together, but the adults were all around to take a look to them and if some of us did something bad there was always a man or a woman ready to teach to her/him the good manner and to respect people, animals and things. We lived close to the forests, so soon we learned how beautiful, fruitful but also dangerous could be the Nature.
In my village the most part of the men were factory worked with low salaries, but we kids didn't think about us like poor kids, because we were all in the same situation and for us was normal to eat just bread with water and sugar at the end of the month when there were just few money at home. We thought about ourselves we were lucky because we can play close to a small river, we can build freaky cabins with the branches of the tree and to collect chestnuts, stawberries and blackberries too.

Maybe I remember that time in a more nice way because I was so young, but year by year, after more than 15 years living in the city, I'm feeling the need to come back to that kind of simple life. Along the time I understood that the most important thing in our life is not to have a lot of things that you can't enjoy because you run all the day, but it's better to have few things you need and enough time to enjoy them.
See ya soon and stay safe, Silvia
