Bernard Turns Himself In and Challenges the Algorithm
Silo Episode 9, Farewell start with a big decision for Bernard, he decided he will be the sacrifice in all this, so now not only Juliette turn in but Bernard going to do it too, they really throwing out the house through the window, because now Bernard doesn't believe anymore in the system well not that he just came to that conclusion but he think its now the time for him to contribute to the cause, he knows that there's more important things to fight for and that he need the people that he trust to complete the mission, that is save all the people they can, not only from Silo 17 but Silo 18 too. Bernard decided to turn himself to Camille, she took him to the algo. Bernard told Camille that he knows a way how the people in the Silo will trust in her again but he will help when she release Juliette but honestly he got no leverage, she already caught him, he thought by giving in she would stop the use of the Vitamin D+ but honestly he is not special, he starts explaining that is easy to lie to the people in the Silo but in this case she doesn't need to lie, she can say that he killed Judge Meadows and that was behind the dead of Ruth Jahns by the algo order, those things are not lies because in fact he did committed those crimes, Bernard continue saying that she can expose him so she can presents herself as a kind hearted person who will accept his crimes and will let him live a peaceful life until his dead but unfortunately the algo told them that nothing of that will change the future events and they must continue with the original plan and send Bernard outside to clean, so Bernard gets upset and argue with the algo, he just told that the algo is not almighty because if that were the case, it wouldn't have had to kill so many people and wipe their memories, in that moment something different happens with the algo it get upset, almost like Bernard presence annoyes it at ending the call. In that moment Bernard and Camille came to the conclusion the algo is not a thing, not a computer but someone on the other side actually controlling them and this piss them off because why a person is better than them to control who lives and who dies.

After that reunion with the algo Bernard is more than sure that it is not a super intelligence machine that is controlling communication neither the rules in Silo 18, also Camille started feeling that something is odd and finally she is slowly open her mind, ears, eyes, she can't continue trusting in an algo that only tell her to finish with the people she care about and continue her life without knowing who are they because their memoires were erased, she needs to start thinking by herself and questioning what really is happening. In addition Bernard with this discovery has information that can help Juliette, the algo is a person and he can finally work on that idea because his plan wasn't at all that the algo accept, but it was to meassure the algo behaviour and when he argue with it he notice the frustration and there's were everything click, there exist a chain of command that exist in Silo 1 that is giving order for so many years and is controlling their life. Camille keeps using Juliette as her "partner" in all this and also was announced that Bernard will be send outside to clean, as we know he was sent out to die and that was his plan since the beginning. Juliette reunite again with Bernard and question him why he turned himself, he said to her that is ready to die, but his biggest contribution was accidental when he discover the algo is a person that is keeping them inside the Silo but still don't know who is the one controlling everything. Is important to mention that Bernard is not a hero in this story, he is just receiving the consequences of his actions, but in my opinon what makes it a "good gesture" is that he is willing to give his life for the people he cares now while on the other hand Camille is willing to sacrifice everyone for her own good, she still believe in the algo even though she knows that anything is not what it seems to be.
Bernard's Final Cleaning Buys Silo 18 Time
For many people in the Silo is hard to watch Bernard walk out without a suit but it doesn't mean that he was forgiven for what he did in the past. Camille never tell anyone about Bernard murders, she just follow the algo order, apparently she continue believing in everything the algo says to her or maybe her attitude will change after this event, one thing is for sure that she will turn around to Juliette team once the algo loose power over the Silo and I hope when the times comes they dont let her. Before Bernard went out cleaning Juliette was in his cell and she feels sad for what is going to happen to him but it doesn't mean that she forgive him, yes he did so many bad things but still she is mad for his sacrifice, she really though there had to be another way to win this fight without losing more life's in the process but everything was done, his execution was in progress and Juliette accepted Bernard destiny, it was admirable that Bernard wasn't thinking about his dead, I'm pretty sure that he was scared but he was more worried to buy the others enough time to complete the missiong without getting caught. Is necessary to remember that many things are happening at the same time but Juliette is not aware of everything. A really touching moment was when Bernard shakes his hand with Robert, giving him a quiet goodbye and also the respect that he deserves for all the time Robert was trying to earn approval from Bernard, maybe it seems unnecessary but it was a good scenes because it shows that Bernard really changed and is giving the importance to the people that always was to his side. While everyone continue watching Bernard dead, I was thinking that this was an ugliest call from Camille, she gave Bernard no helmet to cover his face neither a suit to put distance between the man and the punishment he was facing, people in the cafeteria was forced to watch every step Bernard was giving to his dead, I notice that in that moment the rule was broken and probably the people of Silo 18 should be thinking that since that moment things can change talking about punishments but Billings did mention it was not ilegal to send him out without a suit. Then comes my favourite part of this episode when everyone feels the explosion in the Silo, each explosion had a meaning because at least Bernard dead was not in vain, it gave them enough time to work on the Safeguard pipe problem because the Vitamin D+ was already on the water supply, this is a huge moment in the series, things are really moving, Camille is not under control of the situation, Juliette has a lot of people that believe in here, things an uncertain and I love it.
Daniel and Helen Witness the Beginning of the Silos
Now before times plot finally is going to gives more information about what really happen, how the disaster that are the Silo started. The series takes a big jump in time because by now Helen is pregnant, many months ahead after her and Daniel decided not to be part of the project so they just continue with their life as usual but they returned to Atlanta to be witness of the inauguration of the Silo field where two persons from each country will be able to enter into an assigned Silo, Helen was assigned to Silo 18 while Daniel to Silo 1, it seems that Daniel is really a key for this whole operation because he was needed in the main Silo where we know everything is control, obviously Daniel realizes that something is off and start calling Helen but she didn't answer he just received an awkward text from her and he just knew that it wasn't her, so he decided to go for her because she is so pregnant and still manage to walk up the stairs and get out of the Silo. The way it was plan is so obvious at these point, this was not a tour, why they were placed in different Silos, it seems that it was a plan set up by Stenson not only for Helen and Daniel also for all the people that was there at that moment, and why I say that? because after Daniel is trying to reach Helen a nuclear explosion occur, how convenient that there's people taking the tour to see the Silos but now by force all that people must stay living since that moment in every Silo they were assigned, also the episode mention that The Pact was something created by AI and only modified by Anna and Victor and that is really messed up because made you think that this pact has controlled every part of life inside the Silo for generations, it makes the rules less sacred and less valuable but this is a Silo 1 thing only, the rest have no clue. Thinking that all that people was there with the idea this was going to be a shiny day through the biggest project in human history, just as visitors and in a matter of seconds their life totally changed, they were instructed to the underground by force, under a rule generated by AI and without knowing what will happen with them, is terrifying and more for Daniel and Helen because he never is going to be able to be with his family anymore.
Farewell Finally Brings the Two Timelines Together
Farewell was literately an explosion, being witness of how everything start for the people underground is incredible, Im sure Stenson and the others argue how to start all this and saw no easy way until the said screw it, drop a nuke and everyone will run to the Silo, because its obvious that someone gave the order for the explosion, everything was planned. Watching Daniel trying to reach to Helen without success because the explosion hits and pushes everyone to protect in the different Silos. At least they keeping some mistery behind this season because even though the series gave us way more information in this episode it hasn't revealed who and why organize all that messed. I can't stop thinking that the separation of Daniel and Helen is going to create an environment where Victor is going to use his erased memory potion, she is pregnant and Daniel can't reached them, it is a situation that anyone will be desperate, just imagine the end of the world as you know it, you were living a happy life, with a baby on the way, you were a tourist in a very important event and for being save you and your wife were separated, just crazy and the series has being very clear in a way that Daniel is important for this project, that's why I'm really sure that the erase memory potion is will be used on him really soon potentially with all that people on the other Silo too depending how things go. This episode gives some answers but at the same time create new question, Juliette continue asking herself why the system exist while in the past Daniel and Helen and all the people that are in the Silos must live a new force reality.
