This movie becomes more surprising and scary to me when I discovered that the people confronting the family look just alike. This is one of the things that makes Us an interesting movie to me. The story is all about a lady who goes on a family vacation with her husband, Gabe, and their two children. They visit Santa Cruz, and the lady becomes uncomfortable because she remembers something that happened to her when she was very little. She once had a scary moment that stayed with her for so many years.
There was a time when the lady's family struggled to survive. From a vacation to a dangerous war that everyone has to fight for his life. Each of them encountered their own likeness. They saw a different set of people that looked the same as they were. And those people were dangerous and started attacking them. And they all dressed in the same color of shirt. And each member of the real family had a doppelgänger. This made the situation more scary. This part was also a surprise to me because the real family did not understand what was even happening. They had to just fight people who looked exactly like them, but didn't know anything about it.
The doppelgängers just continued coming after them, and each of them faced their own trouble. This movie is just filled with surprises, and also scary at the same time. And those enemies are not just ordinary enemies. They know their target, and the family feels as if they are fighting another version of themselves because they know every one of their strategies. Their family working together to see that they survive makes the movie emotional and exciting. During the dangerous moments, they were all afraid. But they still had to find a way out to protect themselves.
As the story continues, Adelaide finally discovers the truth about what happened when she was a child. When Adelaide was a little girl, she went to a hall of mirrors at the Santa Cruz park. She met another girl who looked exactly like her. But that girl was not a normal twin. The girl was one of the people who lived underground and were created as doubles of people living on the surface. So, the person we thought was Adelaide was actually the doppelgänger who had switched places with the real Adelaide.
This is one of the most surprising parts of the movie. This makes everything change. And also, the way we understand everything at the beginning also changes.
The movie is frightening. And the story is full of mysteries. When I was watching the movie, I kept asking myself what was really happening. And from the beginning of the story, it made me confused. How do these strange people get to know everything about the family, and their resemblance was totally surprising.
The action scenes were much interesting, especially when the family was forced to fight their doubles. It can be so amazing and scary at the same time. I enjoyed watching Us because it is not just about a horror movie. It makes you think and become confused about identity.
