Welcome back to a new post, where I’ll be showing you how I drew a rose from the garden flower scene in the movie *Alice in Wonderland.
I can assure you that I’ll never tire of drawing things inspired by the movie Alice in Wonderland. The animation is truly beautiful—something that really caught my eye—because I love not just the film itself, but the way every single detail is crafted. One of those details appears in the scene where Alice arrives at the flower garden and the flowers begin to sing like an orchestra; that’s where a rose appears—one that is lovelier than all the others. A specific detail is the "curtain" covering it, which is actually a spiderweb; unfortunately, I couldn't quite manage to draw the web, so I settled for just drawing the rose. I decided to change the rose's color—even though I know it’s supposed to be white—because I really like the new look; I combined a pastel pink with a melon shade, which is a softer type of orange. I invite you to check out the steps I took to create this drawing and see the final result.

I started by drawing the facial features, because the flowers in the garden have the faces of beautiful women; I began with that part, trying to capture every detail—this section represents the rosebud.
Next, I moved on to the rose petals; they need to go around the small bud, looking rather like a hat. After that, I drew the leaves and the stem to begin working on the dress.
The dress is made up of leaves cascading down to form a skirt—this is the detail I like best. I took great care to craft each leaf properly so they would look like the drape of a skirt. Afterward, I went over every pencil line with a marker to create a clean outline, ensuring no pencil marks remained to smudge or blend with the colors.
Next, I started adding color to the bud and petals, using a combination of pastel pink and melon—a light orange; these shades come from a pastel color set. On the central leaf, I added a detail resembling a droplet, but since it is positioned in the center, it looks like an ornament to me.
Continue coloring the leaves; blend light green, dark green, and dark blue. Use the blue to add shading to the edges and the center.
Next, I moved on to the leaf sections of the dress; I applied a layer of light green and then added blue shading between the leaves, as the color deepens with each successive leaf as they go down.
I colored the leaves one by one because I wanted not only a different effect, but also for each leaf to stand out in contrast.
Finally, I made a few last touch-ups, such as adding a bit of color to the edges and the lines on the leaves.

And so, the drawing is finished. Thanks for joining me today—what do you think of the drawing? Do you like this rose, too? Or perhaps you prefer another character from the movie? Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Thanks everyone, and see you next time.
