ENGLISH CONTENT

Hello to everyone in this community and fellow sewing enthusiasts! For months I'd been wanting to make an eyeglass case after seeing so many designs on social media. Years ago, my mother used to make eyeglass cases out of foam, and I remember enjoying watching her. After finding the videos I mentioned, I saved them to add to my list of pending projects. What finally motivated me to make a couple was when a woman at a bazaar asked me if I sold fabric eyeglass cases... and I was so disappointed I didn't have any, haha. But I won't be caught off guard again! 😌

Of all the designs I saw, I loved one with a heart-shaped pattern. To make it, I drew a heart on a square approximately 22cm x 19cm. Then, I cut the following pieces from fabric: 2 fabric hearts, 2 half-hearts (using the most rounded part of the pattern as a reference, adding more or less than half the size), the same pieces in wadding, felt, or stuffing, as well as a small piece of fabric and Velcro or hook-and-loop fastener.

The first thing I did was sew the small piece of fabric, folding it and adding a couple of stitches to make a small handle for the case.

Next, I padded the fabric pieces, placing the right sides of the fabric together and the batting on one of the reverse sides. I sewed all around the edge, remembering to leave a small opening, and then turned the pieces right side out, so both were padded.

🧵🪡 This is how I got the front and back pieces of the case 🧵🪡

Before joining the two pieces, I sewed the handle to one end of the back piece and also a small piece of Velcro in the center.

Now it's time to sew both pieces together, taking the opportunity to sew along the entire edge of the case, as well as sewing the other piece of Velcro to the tip of the case.

The first one I made turned out perfectly, as my glasses, which are rather large, fit without any problem. However, the second one I made ended up a little smaller because I used a piece of fabric that was smaller than the measurements. But, although my reading glasses don't fit, the sunglasses I bought in the "children's" category (for my outfits) fit perfectly, so it must be ideal for children's glasses.

That heart shape is such a cute idea for an eyeglass case. Honestly, getting caught unprepared at a bazaar is the best kind of push to finally start a project like this. 🌺
