Hello to all members of this community and cat lovers! Many of you might think I have a soft spot for Cleo, my feline niece, because I've been talking about her more lately, but that's not the case. As a good human aunt to two precious cats, I love them both equally, but it's true that Cleo, being much younger than Ying, tends to be involved in more adventures and situations other than just sleeping, haha. Anyway, today I wanted to talk a little about Ying and what's been happening with him lately.
Ying looks like a little angel, perfect with his personality 😇
The most notable thing was that Ying ended up wearing a cone for a few days. This was because, after playing with Cleo, he ended up with a small wound on his forehead, perhaps caused by Cleo's sharp claws or fangs. I always try to trim the tips of Cleo's claws, but playing with her myself, I've noticed that her fangs, being so small, are very sharp. The problem with Ying's wound occurred because he made it worse by scratching it with his back paw. My sister got scared, and after talking to the vet, they recommended using a special cream for healing and the cone to prevent the wound from reopening (because he reopened it twice while scratching, I imagine due to the itching that occurs during the healing process 😣).

Although it was only a few days, they were very hard for us (my sister and I), because it hurt us so much to see poor Ying trying to take the cone off, bumping into everything, or feeling discouraged because of it. In fact, the first night, my sister and I didn't sleep well because we were worried about hitting him (he sleeps with us) or worrying if he needed to get in or out of bed. Even Cleo seemed worried about Ying; in fact, the first day she started scratching at the cone, and then I understood... she was trying to take it off, maybe thinking that her dad, Ying, needed help with what he had on his head. It made me so sad! 😭
It's so rewarding to finally see Ying get comfortable enough to sleep 🤧
We tried to keep them separate while the wound healed, and when it finally did, Ying was back to his usual self. The first thing he did was groom himself a lot, haha, and even play with Cleo with the same energy. Of course, we've been keeping a closer eye on them during those games to prevent anything like that from happening again. It was such a relief to be able to remove that blessed cone. Let's hope neither of them ever needs it again 😓
Now, when it gets sunlight, it doesn't look like a lamp anymore haha

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad y amantes de los gatos! Muchos pensaran que tengo favoritismo hacia Cleo, mi sobrina gatuna, porque últimamente he hablado más sobre ella, pero, no es así. Como buena tía humana de dos preciosos gatos, los quiero a ambos por igual, pero es cierto que Cleo, al ser muchísimo más joven que Ying, suele protagonizar a diario más aventuras o situaciones distintas a simplemente dormir jaja. Pero bueno, hoy quise hablar un poco sobre Ying y lo que ha pasado con él últimamente.

Lo más resaltante fue que Ying acabó usando un cono por unos días, esto porque luego de jugar con Cleo, acabó con una pequeña herida en la frente, tal vez producida por las garras o los colmillos afilados de Cleo. Siempre procuro recortar las puntas de las garras de Cleo, pero jugando yo misma con ella, me he dado cuenta de que sus colmillos, como son muy pequeños, están muy afilados. El problema con la herida de Ying se produjo porque él mismo se la empeoraba al rascarse con su pata trasera. Mi hermana se asustó y tras hablar con el veterinario, le recomendaron usar una crema especial para la cicatrización y el cono, para que no se volviera a abrir la herida (porque se la abrió dos veces al rascarse, me imagino que por el picor que se produce durante la cicatrización 😣).
El pobre Ying todo triste por estar usando el cono 😣
Aunque sólo fueron unos unos días, fueron unos días muy duros para nosotras (mi hermana y yo), ya que nos dolía mucho ver a al pobre Ying tratando de quitarse el cono, chocando con todo o con desánimo por lo mismo. De hecho, la primera noche, mi hermana y yo no dormimos bien, porque nos preocupaba golpearlo (él duerme con nosotras) o pendientes por si necesitaba subir o bajar de la cama. Hasta Cleo pareció preocuparse por Ying, de hecho, el primer día comenzó a caerle a zarpazos al cono y luego comprendí... estaba tratando de quitárselo, quizás pensando que su papá Ying necesitaba ayuda con eso que tenía en la cabeza ¡Me dió tanto sentimiento! 😭
Es tan gratificante poder ver a Ying acomodarse como quiere al dormir 🤧
Procuramos mantenerlos separados o al margen mientras la herida se curaba y cuando finalmente lo hizo, Ying pudo volver a su ánimo habitual, lo primero que hizo fue acicalarse mucho jaja y hasta jugar con Cleo con la misma energía. Por supuesto, hemos estado más al pendiente de esos juegos entre ellos, para evitar que algo así vuelva a suceder. De verdad, fue un alivio para nosotros el poder retirarle ese bendito cono. Esperemos que ninguno de los dos tenga que necesitarlo 😓
Ahora, cuando recibe la luz del sol, ya no parece una lámpara jaja
