ENGLISH CONTENT

Hello to everyone in this community! For the past few weeks, I’ve been taking some time off—not just to rest physically, but also mentally and emotionally. That’s why I’m currently in a quieter city, far from the capital; not only am I sleeping better here, but I’ve also been forced to step away from the routine that was starting to suffocate me (I tend to get a bit obsessive when it comes to my projects, haha!). Even so, I couldn’t quite pull myself away from my work entirely—I’m still posting here, and I even brought some of my creations along to sell.

Usually, I offer my items through local buy-and-sell posts in this city; in fact, things went relatively well last time, so I was hopeful that this experience would be just as good—or even better. I also kept an eye out for the bazaars that occasionally take place here (though they are quite rare), and as soon as I spotted a Halloween bazaar, I decided to join in.

The cost to participate was quite affordable compared to what I’ve seen in the capital, though it only covered the space itself—we had to bring our own tables and canopies. Many other entrepreneurs are well-prepared for this, bringing their own folding tables and the necessary gear for sun protection. I, on the other hand, go with my tried-and-true method: a blanket spread out on the grass. This time, I bought a piece of waterproof fabric to use as a ground cover; it kept the blanket and my products from absorbing moisture from the damp earth (it was drizzling a little bit). It worked out perfectly, and it even gave me more room to display my items—a big improvement over the last time I set up on my own, when my blanket had been far too small.

✨ Even though I didn’t bring all my creations, I managed to fill the entire tablecloth! ✨

As for sales... they weren’t the best, haha. I managed to cover the participation fee, but that left me with zero profit 😅 I was a bit discouraged, especially since several other stalls sold a lot. I had brought my most affordable items, and I’d also put a lot of effort into making some plushies—hoping to sell them all that day, just as I’ve managed to do in the capital. Of course, my products are primarily handmade/artisanal; I’ve learned that this might not be the right type of market for me—or, at the very least, I need to create items that better cater to the specific niche these events target: fans of Japanese animation.

Still, I’m holding onto the lovely comments I received from people who liked my work, as well as the enthusiasm shown by those who did make a purchase. As it happens, I was invited today to another market, this one taking place at a local university... though, after this experience, I’m not sure if I should go, haha! On the other hand, I’m hopeful that once I return to the capital, all the items I brought with me will find their new owners! 💚
