Wednesday Walk

[ENG/ESP] A Wednesday to Walk as Who I Am

photo_2026-10-27_23-38-39.jpg

The week continues on its course, another day added to our routines and responsibilities, and yet we keep moving forward with the best attitude possible, because in the end, that’s the goal in life: to work, live, and move forward with enthusiasm. That’s why, with the same energy that accompanies me every Wednesday, I’m joining #wednesdaywalk once again—a weekly initiative that I enjoy immensely and that always inspires me to share a little piece of my days. As always, I’m deeply grateful to @tattoodjay for this wonderful space that lets us connect, share our journeys, and appreciate the beauty around us. Before we begin, I want to wish you all a wonderful Wednesday. This day started quite early, almost at dawn, and from that very first moment, the heat was already intense. We haven’t had any significant rain on the island for weeks, and the drought has made the sun feel stronger from very early on. That reminds us how important it is to stay hydrated and protect our skin. In fact, I recently bought a sunscreen that matches my skin tone because the previous one left me looking completely white, as if I were dressed up as Casper the Friendly Ghost walking down the streets. It made me laugh to see myself like that, but I definitely needed one that didn’t make me look like I’d stepped out of a Halloween movie. Despite the heat, the scenery remains beautiful. It’s amazing how nature, even in the midst of a drought, manages to treat us to urban and natural views that look like something out of a postcard. The island has that magic; even on the driest days, there’s always something to admire—a surprising little corner, a mountain that looks majestic, or a sea that sparkles brightly.

Our first stop of the day was at the Parque Costa Azul shopping center, where we just had to drop off some invoices before continuing on to Paraguachí. The Sunsol Isla Caribe hotel is located there, and we had to inspect the drinking water bottling plant and coordinate the cleaning of tank number 3. Although these were quick tasks, they still involved running back and forth under a sun that seemed determined to beat down on us with full force.

After handing in the invoices, we set off for Paraguachí, a place that never ceases to amaze us with its natural beauty and those views of the Guayamurí River that appear among the streets as if they were part of a painting.

To get to the Sunsol Isla Caribe Hotel, we passed through Playa El Cardón and then through La Sabana del Cardón, where the scenery was so peaceful and relaxing that you could feel your mind clear just by looking around.

These days, my husband and I have decided to treat ourselves to a few minutes by the sea after we finish our work. It’s a little ritual that helps us come home with a lighter heart. Sitting together, listening to the waves, taking a deep breath… it’s a way to better channel our energy and thoughts. You have to take life one step at a time, without rushing, without carrying more than necessary, and the sea always reminds us of that.
