The aim is to keep them light and conversational, though some might be heavier - regardless of the content topic itself though, just have some fun engaging and discussing with whoever happens to put in the effort in the comments section below.

1. A load of Warship

While the USS Abraham Lincoln and its challenged crew is en route back to the US for a much overdue rest, after reports of crew attempting suicide came out - a new warship in production is looking to be renamed. Can you guess who they are looking to name it after? That's right - the guy who loves to write his name on anything - like a toddler just learned how to write it. Not only that, because they can't name ships after sitting presidents, they would have to change the law to do so. And not only that, the name that was earmarked for the ship, was a black WWII Pearl Harbour hero.

Presidential class.

2. Remember the Titans

In the last week, Hayden Panettiere died from a suspected overdose. She started acting as a child and had some notable TV roles as an adult, but has also been open about her struggles in the last decade or so with addiction. What was interesting a few days after her death, is that Neutrogena, a skincare company that she was a spokesperson with for over a decade, apologised for firing her due to a morality clause. What did she do to break the clause?

Speak openly about her post-partum depression.

3. It 10x'd

No - none of my crypto holdings - they are still down 99%.

The cost of renouncing Russian citizenship is now 10x more expensive than it was. There are about 35,000 Russian citizens in Finland and while there were 2 renunciations in 2020, there were 138 in 2025. That might not seem that significant, but giving up one's nationality is something that people don't tend to take lightly - even if they are against the government of the country. So anyway, the current financial cost works out to about 2500€ and then there is the Russian beau acracy on top - which is probably the major reason more people haven't renounced. And of course, I think they'd also have to be dual citizens to be able to renounce Russian, otherwise - they are like Tom Hanks in that airport movie.

    Hayden played a character on one of her shows that was dealing with a lot of things including post partum depression. It's too bad that she was suffering from so much in real life too.

    I think being open about a personal struggle should not be treated as a moral failure, particularly when someone is trying to raise awareness about an issue that affects many people.

    The cost of renouncing Russian citizenship is now 10x more expensive than it was.

    If that allows to not be sacrificial pawn in war that still seems like a good investment.

    The story of Dorie Miller's actions on December 7th 1941 is that of a true hero. Hoepfully he gets a ship named after him.It is surprising to me he doesn't already. That said, the modern tradition is to name carriers after former presidents. The key word being "former". Not current draft dodging presidents.

    It is sad when someone speaks openly about what they are going through and instead of getting support, they lose an opportunity because of it. It shows how some companies care more about their image than the person.

    I always like a regular Friday discussion because it gives everyone something to look forward to and creates a relaxed space for people to share their thoughts. I like that the topics can changes. And we have more to discuss. Looking forward to join the discussion on discord soon it's been a while.

    On the article "a load of warship".

    It's necessary to talk to someone you trusted if you are struggling, you can talk to a trusted adult or reach out to the resources units for help. These days, with the high level of civilization and education, resorting to suicide is the worse decision to ever think of.

    Yeah, I bet that law will get changed and we will get a Trump aircraft carrier :) Hayden Panettiere was at one point Klitschko's girlfriend/fiancé and she had a baby with him who lives with the father in Ukraine right now... I guess it is better for the the child to be in a country that is at war with Russia than be with the mother who is going through some major problems...

    Oh and perhaps some Russians do what I did when I heard over the phone that they want me to come to the Chicago Ukrainian consulate to renew my passport. I basically said forget it and just use my USA passport and forgot about that former citizenship.
