Sometimes I try to seek validation from people I find around me. I just want to know and be sure if they truly want me in their space or not. But while doing this thing, I do it in such a way that they will not be able to find out what I have in plan. But sometimes also, I ask myself if it is really necessary for me to do that. But one answer I give myself is that it is not, but I just want to do it because I sometimes want validation that is not really necessary. I understand that this validation can be faked, and I might get the response I want because that's what I want to hear.
The thing we do not know about a human is that we cannot force anyone to like us. There is a case that happened to me some months back. Actually, this is my first time experiencing it. I have always heard that you can meet someone, and the person will act nicely to you, but you will still not like the person. Not like you cannot talk to the person, but you just don't want that person in your space. This is not you hating the person, but the person might not just possess some qualities that will make you lean into the person. The only thing that can be done in that case is just for both parties to exercise patience because patience is virtue.
So I met this guy at an event I went to with my friends. I never knew the person was a friend to one of my friends, but I neglected that because I had seen the person before, but we just don't talk, and I didn't know then. I ignored the person, but we greeted each other, and I was facing what I was doing. Long story short, I began to notice some strange moves that the person was doing, and I noticed he knew I didn't want to relate with him. But with some times of gesturing with my friends, they introduced him to me, and I made gestures alone to all what he said, like I was not interested.
While we were leaving that venue for the occasion, he asked for my number, and I felt like, why would he ask for my contact when we have nothing in common? But I could not refuse to give him, so I gave him my number so that he can text me on WhatsApp. It was not even long at all before he texted me, and I ignored his messages for a while, and then I replied, asking who it was. He explained himself, and I said okay. Since I was not interested in having a conversation with him, I ensured that I ended the chat on time.
After a while of not talking to each other, I decided to reach out to him after he had tried so much to connect with me, and we spoke at length about life and lots of things. I saw him from another angel of life, and I was able to learn something new from him, and I will forever be grateful for that. Bottom line, you cannot force yourself to liking someone. Things will happen naturally, and you will enjoy it.
