Well... our 10 days of fun are over, and we are back to real life. Oh... switching my brain completely off is something I wish I could do more often. This year we finally had the chance to spend our holiday with my brother and his girlfriend. The last time my brother and I went to the seaside together was more than 20 years ago. We were just kids back then, so no parties, no cocktails, and definitely no crazy stories.

This year we decided it was finally time to spend 10 days together and see if we could survive each other. Spoiler alert... we did! 😂 What we also discovered was that we are much more alike than we ever thought. Well... my husband and my brother's girlfriend discovered it first. They probably wanted to strangle us a few times. 😊
One day my brother and I went to the shop. The shop was literally two minutes from our apartment, so it should have been the easiest trip ever. Well... somehow we couldn't find our way back. We spent about 15 minutes walking around Biograd, sweating like crazy and refusing to call his girlfriend because, obviously, we knew exactly where we were going. We didn't. Suddenly she appeared in front of us, smiled, and simply asked, "Looking for something?" Oh my God... we had walked through every tiny street except the right one. Yes, I'll show you the map. We were literally walking in circles like two lost tourists. So yes... my brother and I are definitely related. 😂
😂😂😂
Originally, we had big plans. We wanted to visit different towns, explore the culture, and see as much as possible. Then Croatia welcomed us with 36°C, and after 10 a.m. it felt almost impossible to breathe outside. We arrived exactly when the heatwave decided to show up too. At least I wasn't at home, where it was just as hot!

This was my first time staying in Biograd na Moru, and I have to say... I absolutely loved it. We stayed in a beautiful apartment right in the middle of the peninsula, owned by my brother's girlfriend's grandparents, and we were so grateful they let us stay there. Everything was within a two-minute walk. The beach, the marina, restaurants, bars, shops... everything. We didn't even need the car because we had electric bikes available for free.

The only problem? The heat. Our daily routine quickly became very simple: beach in the morning, air conditioning after 10 a.m., and back to the beach again in the evening. Honestly... we couldn't complain. 😊

But let me tell you a little more about this lovely town.
Don't let its size fool you. Biograd na Moru has over 1,000 years of history and was once the town of Croatian kings. In 1102, Coloman was crowned here.

Pretty impressive for such a peaceful little town!
The old town is perfect for wandering around. Small stone streets, little cafés, beautiful restaurants, and one of the biggest marinas on the Adriatic.

And yes... we saw some seriously HUGE yacht. Of course, we immediately became curious.

Who owns that floating palace? So we asked one of the bartenders. Apparently, it belonged to some Chinese billionaire.
Is that true? No idea. Did I immediately consider swimming over there and asking if he wanted to adopt me?
Absolutely.
Or maybe hire me as part of the crew. I'm not picky. 😂
If you love nature, you're in the right place. From Biograd you can visit Kornati National Park or Telašćica Nature Park, both famous for their incredible scenery.
We wanted to visit everything...But the heat had other plans. The sea, however, was perfect. Swimming, floating around, watching the sunset...
Honestly, that's all we needed.
Biograd isn't about giant attractions or huge crowds.
It's about relaxing, good food, beautiful sunsets, friendly people, and making memories you'll still be laughing about years later.
Evenings were my favourite.
Swimming.
Cocktails.
Yes... cocktails.
The only time I actually drink cocktails is on holiday. Don't offer me beer. Well... Maybe one or two. 😂

One evening we even visited the amusement park.
After 10 p.m. And I was STILL sweating. My favourite?
The bumper cars!

Finally a place where crashing into people is completely allowed... and I don't lose my driving licence. 😂
And then...SEAFOOD!!
Honestly, this is what I wait for all year. When I'm by the sea, seafood is basically all I eat. I probably had enough for the next twelve months. After every meal they brought us homemade Croatian spirits.

Very, very strong. Apparently, they help your stomach after a big meal. I don't know if that's scientifically proven... But I wasn't about to argue. 😂
The sunsets were absolutely beautiful.

If you're ever thinking about visiting Croatia, I can honestly recommend Biograd na Moru.
Oh... and there was football too. Croatia was playing Portugal. At 1 a.m. they woke me up so we could go and watch the match outside.
And yes...I actually got up. For one evening I felt 20 again. 😂
The atmosphere was incredible. It didn't even matter that Croatia lost. (Okay... maybe it was a little unfair. 🙁 )
Looking back, our holiday was exactly what we needed.
Morning swims. Coffee... or cocktails... or beer. Afternoons hiding from the heat and playing cards.Laughing until our stomachs hurt. Evening walks along the beach. Fresh seafood every day. Beautiful sunsets. And lots of memories.
Saying goodbye to this little town wasn't easy. Now we're back home...
And I'm exhausted! Seriously... Isn't vacation supposed to be relaxing?
Never mind. I'll sleep for the next two days.
Luckily, we still have one more week of holiday left...
This time in Slovenia. 😊

With love, @tinabrezpike ❤️
