En esta ocasión, les comparto el paso a paso para elaborar un lindo colgante para la cocina, aunque también es una buena idea ponerle un imán y pegarlo a la nevera, jajaja. Sin duda, nunca me canso de elaborar colgantes; es algo que disfruto, me desestresa, me ayuda con la creatividad... ya saben que a veces uno se puede estancar y también está bien descansar la mente un ratito.

Good afternoon, friends! I hope you are having a wonderful week. For my part, I’m happy to stop by and share a lovely idea with you. This time, I’m sharing the step-by-step process for making a cute kitchen hanging decoration—though it would also work well to add a magnet and stick it on the fridge, hahaha. I never get tired of making hanging decorations; it’s something I enjoy—it relieves stress and boosts my creativity. You know how it is; sometimes you can hit a creative block, and it’s good to give your mind a little rest.

🌟 PROCEDIMIENTO | 🌟 PROCESS
✨PASO 1:
Lo primero que debemos hacer es tomar una hoja blanca y dibujar ahí todas las ideas que se nos vengan a la mente; puedo decir que yo hice unos tres ejemplos, que es lo que suelo hacer siempre: unos 3 bocetos y al final selecciono el que más me guste o el que pienso que mejor se adaptaría al fondo o base que voy a utilizar. Al estar listo el diseño, es momento de transferir a los colores correspondientes de foami, como explico a continuación:
✨Gorro: 5.5 cm x 4 cm en foami blanco. ✨Cabello: 7.7 cm x 4.5 cm en foami marrón oscuro. ✨Cabeza: 4.5 cm x 4 cm en foami crema. ✨Manos: 1.5 cm x 1 cm en foami crema. ✨Rodillo: 9 cm x 2 cm en foami marrón claro.
✨STEP 1:
The first step is to take a sheet of white paper and sketch out any ideas that come to mind. I usually create about three examples—that’s my standard process: three sketches, and then I pick the one I like best or the one that I think will fit the background or base I plan to use. Once the design is ready, it’s time to transfer the shapes onto the corresponding colors of craft foam, as detailed below:
✨Hat: 5.5 cm x 4 cm white foam. ✨Hair: 7.7 cm x 4.5 cm dark brown foam. ✨Head: 4.5 cm x 4 cm cream foam. ✨Hands: 1.5 cm x 1 cm cream foam. ✨Rolling pin: 9 cm x 2 cm light brown foam.

✨PASO 2:
Al estar todas las piezas recortadas, es momento de dar color a los bordes de cada una con marcadores o pinturas que hagan contraste; en mi caso, utilicé amarillo para el borde del gorro, negro para el cabello, marrón para la cara y manos, y un marrón más oscuro para el rodillo. Cuando demos color a cada pieza, se debe difuminar rápidamente con la ayuda de un pañito.
✨STEP 2:
Once all the pieces are cut out, it’s time to add color to the edges of each piece using contrasting markers or paints; In my case, I used yellow for the hat's brim, black for the hair, brown for the face and hands, and a darker brown for the rolling pin. As you color each piece, be sure to blend the colors quickly using a small cloth.

✨PASO 3:
Al estar secas las piezas, es momento de dibujar esos detalles que harán la diferencia, digamos que el momento más divertido, que es dibujar ojos, boca, nariz, agregar rubor, definir mejor las manos y el gorro, y dibujar las líneas de la madera y del cabello.

Once the pieces are dry, it’s time to add the details that make all the difference arguably the most fun part: drawing the eyes, mouth, and nose; adding blush; refining the hands and hat; and sketching in the wood grain and hair strands.

✨PASO 4:
Seguidamente, pegamos en orden las piezas hasta formar a la cocinerita: en este caso, comenzamos por cabeza, cabello, gorro y, finalmente, rodillo y manitas.
✨STEP 4:
Next, glue the pieces together in order to assemble the little cook: start with the head, hair, and hat, and finish with the rolling pin and hands.

✨PASO 5:
Por último, vamos con la base, así que tomamos la cartulina corrugada marrón, recortamos un círculo de 14 cm de diámetro y pegamos en el medio a la niña cocinera. Pero, además, añadí un lacito, el cual pegué por debajo, justo en el medio del rodillo, y, obviamente, la tira en la parte trasera para poder colgar.
✨STEP 5:
Finally, move on to the base: take the brown corrugated cardstock, cut out a 14 cm diameter circle, and glue the little cook figure in the center. I also added a small bow glued underneath, right in the middle of the rolling pin and, of course, a strip on the back for hanging.
