[TV] The East Palace - Episode 4

Episode 3 Recap - Gu-cheon's soul was trapped in the Realm of Gwi after he banished the Royal's soul. He drowned himself in a huge clay pot but didn't tie himself to a rope, so Saeng-gang has no way of pulling his soul out. Saeng-gang tried to help but was unsuccessful. However, the Ggeomeoksali helped, but his soul is still wandering in the Realm of Gwi.

The King was furious, but still hopeful that Gu-cheon would somehow succeed.

During the Queen Dowager's 60th Birthday Banquet, something mysterious happened.

Strings of some musical instruments suddenly snapped. A sudden gust of wind almost knocked everything down, including Prince Inha. In the realm of Gwi, it was the time when Gu-cheon entered the palace center.

With low Yang energy and surrounded by resentment, he was about to kill the King when...

Saeng-gang entered the scene and helped Gu-cheon with her Yang energy.

The 2 are now starting to trust each other fully and are working together to banish the pond spirit.

As their bond started to grow stronger, another challenge came.

Saeng-gang revealed she was hurt in the Realm of Gwin, and the pain continues even when she is in the world of the living..

--

Gu-cheon believed that the pond spirit might have regained her strength because of Saeng-gang's energy. They immediately planned to trap the spirit.

He lured the spirit and successfully banished it.

--

News of the Crown Prince's recovery had spread fast.

"Everyone has seen the results, but nobody notices the sacrifices."

So frustrating that it's true. Even in our daily lives, we have somehow been placed in a situation like this. You did everything for someone, and yet that someone never valued you or your efforts.

--

Saeng-gang has somehow foreseen the threat to Gu-cheon's life, so she requested that the King let Gu-cheon out of the Palace safely.

.. but Gu-cheon has doubts.

He doesn't believe that the pond spirit was the one tormenting the Royal bloodline. If a spirit has killed a lot of people, it will absorb all the anger, grief, and bad luck, making it a powerful entity. The pond spirit wasn't powerful enough.

After that, Saeng-gang confronted the Queen Dowager.

She accused the Queen of killing her mother and the Court Lady, but of course, the Queen denied it.

faced with a lot of accusations, the Queen was forced to let out her anger at the Former King.

Because the Queen's heart was filled with great rage, she unwillingly attracted a vengeful spirit in the form of a snake.

It latches onto Royal people with grief and fury and drains their energy.

Because of her confession, Saeng-gang threatened to inform the king.

Gu-cheon, on the other hand, was facing another challenge. The Queen's men tried to kill him, but the King's guards luckily found him.

--

On his way out of the palace, he saw the Ggeomeoksali for the first time after it saved him.

until...

Gu-cheon saved the Ggeomeoksali from the snake spirit.

It was low on energy, so Gu-cheon offered his Yang energy.

Of all the scary entities and intense scenes, it's nice to have a short breather. This Ggeomeoksali balances the good and the bad in every episode.

The next day, Saeng-gang talked to the King about her doubts about the pond spirit and the spirit tormenting the Prince. The King seems to be hiding something.

Another cliffhanger: the Prince has once again been tormented by an unknown entity. Who is this spirit? What's the story behind its resentment toward the royal family?

Poor kid. He's suffering because of the greed of the people before him.>! [Spoiler] hidden text
