English version
Returning to Guaiquerí Park is like reconnecting with that little girl who used to run happily through this place, remembering how much fun I had with my cousins, when life was nothing but games and mischief; those were happy years because imagination helped foster joy, and even more so when we got together as a family.
Today, as we enter, we’re greeted by the Inparques emblem; in the center, you can see the silhouette of a deer, and behind it, a tree leaf; black and green are the colors of the logo and are associated with the institution. The description explains that this design symbolizes the protection of flora and fauna carried out by the ecosocialist park system.
This green oasis is a very pleasant place; its various shades of green make your gaze wander among the trees and grass. I noticed many fruit trees and plants with different flowers. This return to nature is a break from the routine that often becomes suffocating in the face of hardship.
Walking amidst these wonderful landscapes is like giving your soul a breather and seeking a connection with what is essential; caring for and valuing the natural elements is a way to give back a little of what Mother Earth has given us—the chance to live on her and to experience the sensations of breathing fresh air, listening to birdsong, and observing nature up close.
I enjoy being here because it’s always full of people, but far from being a nuisance, you can feel the company of those who share a love for healthy recreation. Even though our tastes differ, that’s the common thread—some come to play sports, others to meditate, some to spend quality time with their families, study, rehearse, and even nurture their romantic relationships.
Now that I see the swings, I should make it a point to bring my granddaughter here so she can have fun on the playground. I’m sure I’ll do that very soon—that will be our next family outing: a morning picnic where the little one can run around and enjoy these spaces, just as I did when I was a child.
