90 days of August is a term used by local restaurateurs referring to the busy season here. I like it because this month is as summery as it gets and I want that to last!
You can see my weekly news pilgrimage started with some morning fog! Mercifully cool nights recently have made for great sleeps and chill mornings.
By mid morning, the haze had burned off and it was looking a little more summery. This nice garden was done by another good local company, https://atouchofdutchlandscaping.com who is not a client of ours but run by a good local Dutch family.
I saw a few nice cars along the way today but settled upon this one for the hot rod of the week. I am not a Ford guy but I love the sound of a Mustang and this one still had dew drops from the cool night.
Mater seems to be enjoying the summer weather as much as I am! His field was harvested of its wheat and straw as well.
The other fields around here are predominantly corn and soy beans. Both are doing well but corn is being harvested for our eating while the rest dries in the field for a September harvest.
As I mentioned earlier, it is the height of tourist season but I still can find a good chance to jaywalk and get a nice shot from the middle of Main Street. It does feel a little quieter than normal but many of our visitors are American who are understandably staying home a little more these days.
A nice slow day to hang in town square with your lunch and enjoy the warm sunny weather.
From my weekly perch atop the steps of city hall looking north, I am picturing the cottage we just returned from 3 hours that way. I will have to put together a few more shots and stories of that wondrous vacation to share.
