In a final effort to fend off the end of summer, we went camping for the weekend. Would I recommend autumn camping, even way up north? Read on and see!
The good thing about living outside of the big city is that I can get to many provincial parks in an hour. An excellent drive through country roads in the fall.
This time, we are headed to Point Farms Provincial park. A nice place right on the shores of Lake Huron, or, our province’s west coast.
It is really neat as the park is up on a shelf and there are 135 steps worth of stairs to get down to the beach.
Once down there, it is relatively quiet. Cello breeze and warm sun down on the rocky beach is just about perfect.
Another neat feature is that looking straight west from a cliff over a Great Lake makes for a fantastic sunset vista.
Such a sight to behold.
That is not where most of the 12k steps came from. There are miles of trails to enjoy.
A hike in the wilderness for us was like walking with @davedickeyyall except for the lack of discs.
The dogs certainly enjoyed it as much as we did.
Of course I am going to enjoy a beer or 8 beside the fire.
I think this haunted old barn has something to do with the historical namesake of point farms. A neat feature along the way.
Something heavy and historic about this park with the ancient granite and age old stones that have rolled on this beach for millennia.
I definitely recommend September camping!!
