How nice is it to have 4 full seasons? Many places don’t have winter and I have been others where summer transforms to winter in what feels like only a week.
Striking out early in the morning for my weekly news day, looks like a nice, clear day that started out a little on the cool side.
Pretty bright though as I have a @davedickeyyall style sunrise to prove I am at it early. Minus the morning bowl of course.
The hot rod of the week is combined with my small business shoutout this week. Here we have a nice M5 out front of NVS Auto that is owned by my friend and city councillor Harj. He is currently running for reelection and we should find out in a week or so if he is reelected.
Out on the country highway, looks like Mater’s party has wound down a little. The trailer is still hanging out with for sale signs so Mater might be solo in his field again soon as snow approaches.
With the frost starting, corn harvesting is in peak performance. There is an incredible amount of corn fields in this region and the dry sunny cool days have stacked up so combine work is in high demand now.
Plenty of colour in the trees.
Love those red maples which will probably be bare in a week or 2.
Downtown is still bright and active as locals go about their business and a couple extended theatre shows are still bringing in visitors. So many Michigan license plates in town which makes everyone happy.
From the steps of city hall, the flag is at half mast for the tragedy at a Canadian forces base out west. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/livestory/cfb-wainwright-fire-tragedy-update-live-gen-jennie-carignan-9.7391543 Looks like a fire broke out on a grenade range and resulted in some crazy casualties.
Some inside steps to finish off the long day at the indoor golf facility! A little beer and nachos with some club swinging made for a solid day of activity.
Thanks again for walking around my small Canadian town with me!
