Hello people of Splinterlands! It's @zoe01 again and today I am back with another battle. This time I was playing a Frontier Ranked battle and I got only 26 mana.
Well 26 mana isn't really that much but I still wanted to use my favourite Death summoner Thalgrimore because why not, hehe. 😄
So let's see how this battle went.

Mode: Frontier Ranked Mana Cap: 26 Modifier: Standard Available: Water, Earth, Life and Death
Choosing My Team
As I said already I wanted to use Thalgrimore.
Death is still my favourite element so whenever I get the chance I usually try to use it.
This time I went with a very small team.
My Team
Summoner: Thalgrimore
Position 1: Nim Guard Captain (Melee attack)
Position 2: Spellmonger (No attack)
Position 3: Sorrow Harvester (Magic attack)
I put Nim Guard Captain in the first position because obviously I needed someone to take the attacks. I also liked having it there because it has Void which means it takes 50% less damage from magic attacks.
Behind it I placed Spellmonger.
Spellmonger has Thorns which returns 2 physical damage when it gets hit by a melee attack. So if someone decided to attack it with melee they would also get some damage back.
It also has Untrainable but honestly I wasn't really thinking too much about that ability for this battle.
Then I put Sorrow Harvester in the last position.
The reason I liked Sorrow Harvester here was its Weaken ability. It reduces the max health of all enemy units by 1.
And Thalgrimore was already giving all enemy units -1 Health.
So I was basically reducing their health from two different places.
I thought that could be pretty useful in a low mana battle.
Battle Highlights
My opponent was JHEIRON2 from AGHILYX OGRIND and they had 840 rating.
I had 1,060 rating.
When I saw their team I actually noticed something funny.
They were also using Thalgrimore and Nim Guard Captain. 😂
So both of us had basically decided that Death was the way to go.
My opponent had four monsters while I only had three. They had Nim Guard Captain in front and then two more monsters behind it.
So at first I was wondering if my smaller team would actually be enough.
But then the battle started.
The health reduction from Thalgrimore and Sorrow Harvester was already helping my side.
I really like abilities like Weaken in these lower mana battles because when the teams are small even one health can make a difference.
And of course if a melee monster reached Spellmonger it would have to deal with the Thorns too, hehe.
The battle was about 4 rounds and my team managed to survive.
In the end I got the victory.
Battle Result
The battle ended after 4 rounds and I got +20 Rating.
My rating shown after the battle was 1,060.
Final Thoughts
Okay this was a pretty simple battle but I still enjoyed it.
I went with Thalgrimore, Nim Guard Captain, Spellmonger and Sorrow Harvester and somehow this little team was enough to get the victory. 😄
I think my favourite thing about this match wad that both Thalgrimore and Sorrow Harvester were reducing the enemy's health.
Nim Guard Captain was there to protect the team and Spellmonger had Thorns in case any melee monster decided to attack it.
The battle only lasted 4 rounds and I got another +20 Rating.
So yeah, another little Death win for me hehe.
Sometimes I think I enjoy these low mana battles more because you have to decide what cards are actually worth using instead of just filling every position.
