[TV] "From" Season 2: The Mystery Just Got Deeper

I just finished From Season 2 and honestly… I don't even know how to feel 😂. This show somehow manages to make me curious, scared, lost and emotionally exhausted and it's all at the same moment. Okay so, in season 1 my questions remained unanswered and in Season 2 I was hoping for some clear answers about it but it was again confusing and even more questions gathered in my mind.

The reason I liked this series is because of the dark theme. Like the story isn't like any another stories where people are trapped. This one has more intensity. Season 1 depicted the creepy atmosphere where you knew something terrible could happen at any time because of the monsters who live there and comes out during night. But Season 2 leveled up to upper level. Because the town was getting scarier and the relationship between characters were constantly changing and they were dealing with something new each time like it was not repetitive but something new.

So what was my favourite? I would say the mysterious feeling about the town. Who created the town and why it's so weird. And the strange music box, the worms, the creepy children and all these supernatural things literally made me stunned. At some point, I stopped trying to figure everything out because every time I thought I had a theory, the show would come along and completely destroy it 😂. I would be sitting there thinking, “Okay, now I understand what's happening and I know how they can escape” And then five minutes later "nope" hehe.

Boyd's storyline was specially stressful for me. I am still wondering who was that old man? And what was that magical tree? Like magic exists in their world or what? That old man Martin was tied so how did he manage to give him the rope? Also, he gave Boyd some worms and slowly realize that something was seriously wrong with him genuinely and it was giving me goosebumps. That well and Martin being there and the music box, everything made me anxious because it felt like there was no clear way to stop any of it. It was very confusing like how are these connected? What's the correlation with the music box?

I also felt very sorry for Julie throughout this season. Like she is like a brat but that doesn't mean I want her to struggle, she was in a mess and it was heartbreaking to witness as she struggles. To be honest, if I were in this town, I would have quit trying to understand the rules by the second day 😭

But the moment that stands out most to me was the finale.

Spoilers ahead!

Tabitha Matthews actually managed to escape the town. The boy in white outfit he pushed her off the light house and I thought she would be dead. But after that I got to know she escaped I am like, "WOW." So, everything we have seen or known was useless. When Tabitha got to the lighthouse I really thought she was going to find something in the lighthouse to help her family and the people of the town. Or she will end up where she started like they are trapped in a loop so they can't get out. But NOPE. She actually escaped.

And then the season just… ENDED THERE.

I was literally sitting in front of my screen like, “WAIT… WHAT?! THAT'S WHERE YOU'RE ENDING IT?!” 🥲

So when Tabitha woke up in the hospital it was a turning point because it was the first time that hope existed for her escape. And now we got a new mystery to solve! I got many questions in my mind like is she dead or she's dreaming? If she escaped the where she exactly is? Can she get back to the town or can others escape the same way by falling? And most importantly, what does her escape mean for everyone still trapped in the town?

Anyway, I liked that Kristi got reunited with her fiance and felt bad for Kenny Liu, he is a great guy and from season 1 I was hoping he would be the end game for Kristi. But there's more seasons let's wait and see what happens next.

About the ending that's what I love and hate. They did answer a few questions but immediately gave us five new questions, Hehe.

Well, I really, really liked Season 2. It was giving the spookiness, emotional feelings, mysterious events. Although the story was moving forward but it felt like it's actually not moving instead it's stuck. But I still got addicted and I want to watch more, I just want to see how it's going to end.
