Although each season can be special there is one in particular that I really don’t like and that is summer. Although some people like the long days and sunny weather others (including me) struggle to see how they can enjoy the awful heat.
I have always struggled with summer due to not being able to handle the heat. On top of this I am allergic to the heat which makes it even worse. My skin reacts to the high temperatures making me very uncomfortable. Sometimes I wish I could just avoid summer all together.
Going to school in the summer is awful. I have to wear my school uniform and sit in a classroom in the heat. When I get home I feel absolutely exhausted.
El Niño made things even worse. I had heard of it before but didn’t realise how much it would affect the weather. The temperature was extremely high and I even struggled to be comfortable inside. The fan wasn’t helping much as it was just blowing hot air. I was waiting for rain to come as I hoped it would cool the weather down.
I also don’t like how summer affects my routine. I struggle to focus on my work as it is too hot. I get easily annoyed and little things irritate me. It is also hard to sleep at night as the room is warm.
To help me cope with summer I will try to drink lots of water and stay inside as much as possible. I often splash cold water on my face and sometimes have an extra shower. However this only helps for a short amount of time.
The thing that irritates me most is that summer feels like it lasts forever. I actually quite like winter however it always seems to finish before I can enjoy it. The heat lasts for ages and I get fed up of waiting for it to finish.
I wish winter lasted longer. I get exhausted dealing with the heat every year.
