In feudal Japan, as in every culture, there were and still are beliefs and customs, at some point in history, the mestizos were very badly seen in these lands, a little of this we can appreciate through series or movies, it is interesting how often the content leads you to investigate a little more about it, so with this idea, I saw a series that reflects a little of how the mestizos were seen in feudal Japan.
Blue-eyed Samurai
First things first, this series we could say that in part is historical, as it gives us a small sample of how I mentioned were seen and treated the half-breeds in Japan, so we remember that in the movie 47 Ronin, we see a little of it, in it the protagonist Kai (Keanu Reeves) is marginalized for being a half-breed.
Now, returning to the series, it basically tells us the search for a great blue-eyed swordsman, who seeks the possible white men who could have been his parents, but to further complicate the situation, we are not in the presence of a man, we are talking about a woman and in the search for acceptance ends up under the tutelage of a blind blacksmith.
On the other hand, let's remember that in feudal Japan there were a lot of myths and popular beliefs about creatures and spirits of different types, among them the onryō, these were spirits with blue eyes, which were usually female and whose purpose when returning was to seek revenge, so our protagonist, used to cover her eyes to not be called or bought with these spirits and also to avoid being realized that she was mixed race.
On the other hand, this series has great animation and plot, epic battles between swordsmen and we can also see how they show us part of the past of the characters to understand a little more the motives that move each one.
The time in which this anime could be located is in the mid-seventeenth century where Japan closed its borders to foreigners and expelled foreigners who were in their country, so we see how Mizu, the protagonist does everything possible to find one of the white men, who remained hidden in Japan, who could be his father and although he is extraordinarily skilled with the sword, often loses sight of his north and does not have present the consequences of what he will do, but on his way after crossing with other characters his character is molding.
Unfortunately, this is the first season of this series and we are left with many doubts about what will happen with Mizu, as well as with other characters, what new discoveries she will make and the destinies of some others who made decisions that change many things, but above all to know if there will be a second season of this series.

En el Japón feudal, como en toda cultura, hubo y todavía hay creencias y costumbres, en algún momento histórico, los mestizos fueron muy mal vistos en estas tierras, un poco de esto lo podemos apreciar por medio de series o películas, es interesante como muchas veces el contenido te lleva a investigar un poco más al respecto, así que con esta idea, vi una serie que refleja un poco el como eran vistos los mestizos en el Japón feudal.

Primero lo primero, esta serie podríamos decir que en parte es histórica, pues nos da una pequeña muestra de como ya mencione eran vistos y tratados los mestizos en Japón, así recordamos que en la película 47 Ronin, vemos un poco de ello, en ella el protagonista Kai (Keanu Reeves) es marginado por ser mestizo.
Ahora bien, volviendo a la serie, básicamente nos narra la búsqueda de un grandioso espadachín de ojos azules, que busca a los posibles hombres blancos que pudieron ser sus padres, pero para complicar más la situación, no estamos en presencia de un hombre, hablamos de una mujer y en la búsqueda de aceptación termina bajo la tutela de un herrero ciego.
Por otro lado, recordemos que en el Japón feudal existían una gran cantidad de mitos y creencias populares sobre criaturas y espíritus de diferentes tipos, entre ellos los onryō, estos eran espíritus con ojos azules, los cuales por lo regular eran femeninos y cuyo propósito al regresar era buscar venganza, así que nuestra protagonista, solía cubrir sus ojos para no ser llamada o comprada con estos espíritus y además para evitar se dieran cuenta de que era mestiza.
Por otra parte, esta serie tiene estupenda animación y trama, batallas épicas entre espadachines y también podemos ver cómo nos muestran parte del pasado de los personajes para comprender un poco más los motivos que mueven a cada uno.
La época en la que podría estar ubicado este anime es a mediados el siglo XVII donde Japón cerro sus fronteras a los extranjeros y expulso a los extranjeros que estaban en su país, así vemos como Mizu, la protagonista hace hasta lo imposible para lograr encontrar a uno de los hombres blancos, que permaneció escondido en Japón, que podría ser su padre y aunque es extraordinariamente hábil con la espada, muchas veces pierde de vista su norte y no tiene presente las consecuencias de lo que hará, pero en su camino tras cruzarse con otros personajes su carácter se va moldeando.
Lamentablemente, esta es la primera temporada de esta serie y quedamos con muchas dudas sobre lo que pasara con Mizu, al igual que con otros personajes, cuáles con los nuevos descubrimientos que ella hará y los destinos de algunos otros que tomaron decisiones que cambian muchas cosas, pero sobre todo el saber si habrá una segunda temporada de esta serie.
