The approach of Christmas creates a big fuss, we see people running to fix their homes, buy decorations, gifts, new clothes, in short, many things happen around these dates, we see the streets go crazy, this year every time I left the office to walk a little to the bus stop, the streets where I walked was an adventure, as the crowd buying was impressive and the amount of stalls between those who had permission and those who did not, the same, for me in many cases Christmas has become something empty or rather have become empty turning it into consumerism.

Now, I mention all this because if we briefly remember the movie El Grich from the year 2000, this character stole all the gifts and even the trees from the houses, believing that in this way he would prevent the arrival of Christmas, but to his surprise Christmas came to Villa Quien, and all its inhabitants realized that what they really need to have a merry Christmas, was to be with their family.

For this reason, I believe that the most important thing at Christmas is to share with our family and friends, whether gifts are given or not, according to the capacity of each one, besides that it is not about expensive gifts, if we want to give some to the ones we love, it is about a detail that allows us to manifest in another way that we always have them present in our mind and heart. Besides the fact that in my opinion, at any time of the year we can give a gift to those we love, at the same time I believe that there is no gift more valuable than the quality time we can dedicate to family and friends.

   

Therefore, this year, as usual, in my home we focused on getting together, spending time together, unfortunately there were those last minute inconveniences that sometimes hinder these meetings as my sister's car had an accident just on December 23 and living so far away the complicated thing was not to come home, was to return home, so here we met my mother, my husband, my son, his girlfriend and I, to spend some time having dinner, listening to music, talking, watching TV.

 

This year we did not make hallacas at home, we opted to buy them from a neighbor, but we prepared a chicken salad, in this case chicken, plus three ham loaves, two were bought by my husband and are really good, the third I bought, it was noticeably smaller, expensive and turned out to be a little raw, at least it tasted good, the cherry on the cake was a bottle of Whisky 18 years, which my husband received from the hands of his boss.

 

The important thing about this date for my family and for me, as I already mentioned, is to spend it together, have dinner as a family, talk, laugh, show in union, the love we have for each other, how important we are to each other, I love to see how each one is attentive that no detail is missing of how much or how little we are going to share and that everything is presentable and pleasant, to spend those wonderful moments, for example my son went to get the breast for the salad and the last ham loaf, my husband brought two loaves of bread and looked for the apples to give that delicious final touch to the salad, my mother was in charge of cooking and chopping the potato and carrot, I wanted to clean thoroughly, but the lack of water only allowed me to sweep and clean some surfaces with the water we had in containers for when these situations arise.

   

In summary, I can say that the time we spent together was of quality, the hallacas, the salad, the ham bread, the whiskey and even the papelón with lemon, were very, very good and if I had not been or had not had it, the most important thing was the beautiful time we spent as a family and although my mother is not in the photos she was sharing not only with us, She was also with a neighbor who became a widow about three months ago, so she went to accompany her, because no one, no one should spend these dates alone, so I say goodbye leaving here these lines that were my participation in the initiative Prepared for Christmas Eve 2022, thanks to all of you who made it this far, please do not hesitate to leave your comments in the box provided for them.

La cercanía de la Navidad crea un gran alboroto, vemos a las personas correr para arreglar sus casas, comprar adornos, regalos, ropa nueva, en fin, muchas cosas ocurren en torno a estas fechas, vemos las calles enloquecer, este año cada vez que salía de la oficina al caminar un poco hasta la parda de busetas, las calles por las que transitaba era toda una aventura, ya que la multitud comprando era impresionante y la cantidad de puestos entre los que tenían permiso y los que no, igual, para mí en muchos casos la Navidad se ha vuelto algo vacía o mejor dicho la han vuelto vacía convirtiéndola en consumismo.

 

Ahora bien, menciono todo esto porque si recordamos brevemente la película de El Grich del año 2000, este personaje se robó todos los regalos y hasta los árboles de las casas, creyendo que de ese modo impediría la llegada de la Navidad, pero para su sorpresa la Navidad llego a Villa Quien, y todos sus habitantes se dieron cuenta de que lo que en realidad necesitan para tener una feliz Navidad, era estar junto a su familia.

 

Por esta razón, creo que lo más importante en Navidad es compartir con nuestra familia y amigos, sea que se den regalos o no, según la capacidad de cada quien, además de que no se trata de regalos costosos, si es que queremos darle alguno a los que amamos, se trata de un detalle que nos permita manifestar de otro modo que les tenemos siempre presente en nuestra mente y corazón. Además de que en mi opinión, en cualquier momento del año podemos darle un regalo a los que amamos, al mismo tiempo creo que no hay regalo más valioso que el tiempo de calidad que le podamos dedicar a familiares y amigos.

 

 

Por eso, este año, como ya es costumbre, en mi hogar nos centramos en reunirnos, en pasar tiempo juntos, lamentablemente se presentaron esos inconvenientes de última hora que a veces entorpecen estas reuniones como el que el carro de mi hermana se accidentara justamente el 23 de diciembre y al vivir tan lejos lo complicado no era venir a casa, era regresar a la suya, así que aquí nos reunimos mi madre, mi esposo, mi hijo, su novia y yo, para pasar un rato cenando, escuchando música, conversando, viendo televisión.

 

Este año no se hicieron hallacas en casa, optamos por comprarlas a una vecina, pero preparamos una ensalada de gallina, en este caso de pollo, además de tres panes de jamón, dos los compro mi esposo y están realmente buenos, el tercero lo compré yo, era notablemente más pequeño, caro y resulto estar un poco crudo, por lo menos tenía buen sabor, la cereza del pastel fue una botella de Whisky 18 años, que mi esposo recibió de manos de su jefe.

 

Lo importante de esta fecha para mi familia y para mí, como ya señale, es pasarla juntos, cenar en familia, conversar, reír, manifestar en unión, el amor que nos tenemos, lo importante que somos los unos para los otros, me encanta ver como cada uno está atento de que no falte ningún detalle de lo mucho o poco que vamos a compartir y de que este todo presentable y agradable, para pasar esos momentos maravillosos, por ejemplo mi hijo fue a buscar la pechuga para la ensalada y el último pan de jamón, mi esposo trajo dos panes y busco las manzanas para darle ese toque final tan delicioso a la ensalada, mi madre se encargó de cocinar y picar la papa y la zanahoria, yo quería limpiar a fondo, pero la falta de agua solo me permitió barrer y limpiar algunas superficies con el agua que teníamos en envases para cuando se presentan estas situaciones.

 

En resumen, puedo decir que el tiempo que pasamos juntos fue de calidad, las hallacas, la ensalada, el pan de jamón, el whisky y hasta el papelón con limón, estuvieron muy, muy bien y de no haberlo estado o de no haberlo tenido, lo más importante fue el rato bello que pasamos en familia y aunque mi madre no sale en las fotos estuvo compartiendo no solo con nosotros, también con una vecina que hace unos tres meses enviudo, así que ella fue a acompañarla, pues nadie, nadie debe pasar estas fechas solo, así me despido dejando por acá estas líneas que fueron mi participación en la iniciativa Preparados para la Noche Buena 2022, gracias a todos los que llegaron hasta aquí, por favor no duden en dejar sus comentarios en el cajón destinado para ellos.
