The previous episode must be the saddest of all the episodes since season one. In that episode, we saw the death of two of the most significant characters in the series. Jacob Keyes sacrificed his life so that others may live. While Vannak, a Spartan, died defending the frontline together with John and Riz.

"Episode Five" is still about the defense of Reach. Fate has played the most in this episode intertwining the path of major characters like Dr. Halsey, Sorren, John, and Riz in a losing defense of Reach.

I like how this episode put emphasis on the dramatic defense of Reach. John wasn't able to fully utilize his skills, Riz is still Riz a Spartan when it comes to combat but she is slowly walking away to the path of a Spartan warrior. Soren does what he does best, being unspoken. While I am

What I like in this episode is that it includes serious "family matters as Soren and his wife are doing all they can to find and save their child. While the previous episodes give some glimpse about "family". This episode is by far the most intense since Soren and his wife are in agony because of the thought that something may have happened to their child.

Just like what I expected from the previous episode, Riz has finally called it quits and doesn't want to be a Spartan anymore. John and Riz had a brief conversation. At first, John is convinced to continue fighting while has finally decided not to be a Spartan again. John accepts Riz's decision which starts his quest alone.

This episode has left something we must look forward to in this next episode except for Master Chief. At the end of this episode, Kai is shown in front of a battalion of Spartan IIIs recruits which was instituted by Ackerson. We all knew that Silver Team is a one of kind and once-in-a-generation type of Spartan, with that being said, the Spartan IIIs will be a lesser version of the Spartan IIs in all aspects.

All in all this episode is good. It has all the elements, battles, family, drama, and fate. This episode also gave us a glimpse of the Spartan III program. This series is nearing the final episode and every episode is good in its own right. This episode has given us lots to look forward to in the next episode. What is John going to do? What's next for Kwan Ha? How good are the Spartan IIIs?
