Hello, people of the Internet, everything alright? Today I want to talk to you about a film that although it's simple, I think it's good, especially compared to current horror films whose handling of the genre is quite poor.
Hola, gente de Internet ¿todo bien? Hoy quiero hablarles de una película que pese a que es simple, pienso que es buena, sobre todo comparándola con las actuales películas de terror cuyo manejo del género es bastante pobre.
The first thing I must say is that the cinematography is very well done, there are very interesting shots and focus on details that are key to the plot twist of the film, the colour palette is very genre (a dull palette and a greyish filter) but suddenly surprises with a mostly red placement and a dim lighting, that is to say, it is out of the conventional even if it is for short periods of time.
Lo primero que debo decir es que la fotografía esta muy bien cuidada, hay planos muy interesantes y enfocan detalles que son claves para el giro de trama de la película, la paleta de colores es muy del género (una paleta deslucida y un filtro grisáceo) pero de repente sorprende con una colocación en su mayoría roja y una iluminación tenue, es decir se sale de lo convencional, así sea por espacios de tiempos cortos.
The handling of terror could have been better, not in quality (I considered the quality to be good) but in quantity, at times I found it a bit slow because of the length of time in which "nothing was happening", referring of course to scenes of terror. The ones that there are, which as I said are scarce, are escalating in intensity and are very well done, they are scary, emphasized by a good soundtrack.
El manejo del terror pudo haber sido mejor, no en calidad (la calidad la consideré buena) sino en la cantidad, por momentos la encontré un poco lenta por los espacios de tiempo en los que "nada sucedía", refiriéndome claro a escenas de terror. Las que hay, las cuales como dije son escasas, van escalando en cuanto a intensidad y están muy bien hechas, causan miedo, eso enfatizado con un buen soundtrack.
The performances were very good and surprisingly I must say that the grandmother's was the best, this lady has no dialogue, but with her expression and body language is enough to generate different types of feelings, so I think she is the actress who had the hardest time and that is why I think it was the best performance.
Las actuaciones estuvieron muy bien y sorpresivamente debo decir que la de la abuela fue la mejor, esta señora no tiene dialogos, pero con su expresión y lenguaje corporal es suficiente para generar diversos tipos de sentimientos, así que creo que es la actriz que lo tuvo más difícil y por eso opino que fue la mejor actuación.
The story is simple but frightening and well worked (as it was) is quite interesting, of course it doesn't make clear some aspects (which I didn't like since they could have exploited the story more by going deeper into them) but in general terms it was very good.
La historia es simple pero atemorizante y bien trabajada (como de hecho fue) resulta bastante interesante, claro que no deja claro algunos aspectos (cosa que no me gustó ya que podrían haber explotado más la historia profundizando en ellos) pero en términos generales estuvo muy bien.
All in all, it's a good film, enjoyable (I usually consume heavier horror but it's fine if you're new to the genre) and with an interesting story.
En resumen, es una buena película, disfrutable (usualmente yo consumo terror más heavy pero está bien si inicias con el género) y con una historia interesante
