Hello, Internet people! Today I want to talk to you about Mulan, because it's one of my favourite Disney Classics films (along with Snow White, Beauty and the Beast and Hercules) and after the fiasco that was the live action (boring, predictable and whose story undermined the message of hard work) I preferred to go back to the animated film to enjoy it a bit.
¡Hola, gente de Internet! Hoy quiero hablarles de Mulán, Es una de mis películas preferidas de los Clásicos de Disney (junto con Blanca Nieves, La Bella y la Bestia y Hércules) y es que después del fiasco que resultó ser el live action (aburrida, predecible y cuya historia le restó importancia al mensaje del trabajo duro) preferí volver a la película animada para disfrutar un poco.
Mulan is a Chinese girl who is forced to replace her father in the army because he is old and crippled, so Mulan pretends to be "Ping", the son of Fa Zhou (her father) running the risk of death (as being an impostor is considered a very serious offence) so Mulan must learn along with the other cadets all about the army and face the Huns who have invaded China.
Mulán es una muchacha china que se ve en la obligación de suplantar a su padre en el ejercito, ya que este es anciano y está lisiado, es así como Mulán finge ser "Ping" el hijo de Fa Zhou (el padre de ella) corriendo el riesgo de muerte (ya que ser impostora se considera una falta muy grave) es así como Mulán deberá aprender junto con los demás cadetes, todo lo referente al ejercito y enfrentar a los hunos quienes han invadido China.
Mulan's lousy performance as a man is one of the things that makes me laugh the most in the film, and the jokes that revolve around it are the best, like when a group of soldiers go skinny-dipping in the lake and Mulan is caught between them, totally embarrassed.
La actuación paupérrima de Mulan como hombre es una de las cosas que más risa me dan de la película, y los chistes que giran en torno al hecho son los mejores, como cuando un grupo de soldados van a bañarse desnudos al lago, y Mulan se ve atrapada entre ellos totalmente abochornada.
On the other hand we have Mulan's attraction to Li Shang, the captain of her brigade and mentor, which brings new jokes around these two. Because of this character I realised that I like Asian men 🤣
Por otro lado tenemos la atracción de Mulan por Li Shang, el capitán de su brigada y mentor, lo que acarrea nuevos chistes en torno a estos dos. Por causa de este personaje me di cuenta que me gustan los asiáticos 🤣
Another thing I love are the Emperor's phrases, they remind us of the chinese wisdom which goes back to dynasties and dynasties, my favourite phrase without a doubt is "the wind may blow strong, but the mountain never bows to it" alluding to the mettle and determination of the chinese leader.
Otra cosa que amo son las frases del Emperador, nos recuerdan a la sabiduría china la cuál se remonta a dinastías y dinastías, mi frase favorita sin dudas es "El viento puede soplar fuerte, pero la montaña jamás lo reverencia" haciendo alusión al temple y determinación del líder chino
Another thing I love are the songs in the film, like Reflection, but without a doubt my favourite and I think everyone's favourite is I'll Make A Man Out Of You, all the scenes and the lyrics themselves make me laugh out loud.
Otra cosa que amo son las canciones de la película, como Mi reflejo, pero sin lugar a dudas mi preferida y creo que la preferida de todo el mundo es Hombres en Acción, todas sus escenas y la letra en sí me causa muchísima risa.

The only bad thing is the end of the song, as the funny and amusing atmosphere that the soldiers had been recreating while singing is interrupted and evaporates when they realise that they were late to their destination, that the Huns had destroyed the city and that Li Shang's father had died in the battle.
Lo único malo es el final de la canción, ya que la atmósfera graciosa y divertida que venían recreando los soldados mientras cantaban, es interrumpida y se evapora cuando se dan cuenta de que llegaron tarde a su destino, que los Hunos destruyeron la ciudad y que el padre de Li Shang había muerto en la batalla.
What I like most about Mulan is the story and the message it gives to us, on the one hand we have a strong and determined protagonist but at the beginning she is totally useless (just like her companions) but with effort and hard work, they become the best and bravest soldiers. I also like the relationship between Mulan and her dad, it's quite nice and touching.
Lo que más me gusta de Mulan es la historia y el mensaje que deja, por un lado tenemos a una protagonista fuerte y decidida, pero que al inicio es una total inútil (tal como sus compañeros) pero con esfuerzo y trabajo duro, se hacen los mejores y más valientes soldados. También me gusta la relación entre Mulan y su papá, es bastante bonita y conmovedora.
It is undoubtedly one of Disney's best films so it's inevitable to watch it again to enjoy and laugh for a while. And well, people, that's all for today's post, I hope you liked it.
