Set at the beginning of the story of the legendary Battosai, Kenshin Himura, fights against the control of the Shogun to establish a new Japan of freedom. Kenshin, bearer of the unique Hiten Mitsurugi style, will sacrifice as many lives as necessary in order to achieve peace, that's when he meets a pretty girl named Tomoe, who becomes closer and closer to this cold killer. What is the relationship between Kenshin and Tomoe, and will Kenshin be able to achieve his goal?

Honestly, I don't really like Netflix's reality adaptations, but from the bottom of my heart, I absolutely loved this one. Totally polished, attached to the original movie, perfectly made characters and wonderful acting, scenes that involve you in the plot and break your heart, while great and fierce fights, without the need to include the techniques of anime fiction, the battles themselves were the coolest, even the costumes of the characters seemed excellent.

At first, when I decided to watch it I thought things that I did not believe possible to adapt in a "Live Action", this led me to say Impossible to adapt the techniques of Kenshin, surely the battles will be boring and linear! Of course, I was absolutely wrong, the fights were deep, sinister, very fluid with amazing movements and blood flowing everywhere, the way in which they used the environment to their advantage, was wonderful, the aesthetics of the katanas and battlefields extremely well cared for. Rivals on par with the best Shogun warriors and revolutionaries willing to give their lives in battle for the new era.

Swords: The most common and what is seen in the film, is the original style of a samurai, fighting with swords and bladed weapons, although there are many styles of kendo, in this the only one mentioned was the Hiten Mitsurugi which Kenshin uses.

Ninja Tools: This is a very colorful and lethal art, which we could observe in several occasions, using a sickle with a chain, short swords, bows and other types of weapons.

Clean Fist: Although, the normal thing is to kill your opponent in a fast and lethal way, there are users who prefer to use their hands or even when fighting with swords, they use their hands as a resource to take their opponents by surprise.

I really applaud the people in charge of the scenography, it was extremely excellent, I loved how they managed to capture the Tokugawa era in such a splendid and accurate way. Aspects as simple, but at the same time as simple as the fortresses, paths, rivers and bars were done so well to the point of feeling totally inside the war, with samurai roaming throughout Japan and different fighters each with a destination to seek.

I think this is one of the few times I talk about this (I'm not that interested in Japanese culture), but I think it's worth mentioning how well done are the costumes of the actors involved in the film, the women with a kimono of the time and depending on their Status and the men, robust and rough carrying their murderous tools on their waists. Even the Katanas look as real as possible, with the Hamon (Sword Thing) design, which resembles as closely as possible to the reality of what are weapons in real life, corresponding to that culture.

As usual in each of the reviews I do, I will proceed to give a brief review of the characters of the film that were the most important to me according to their development.

Kenshin Himura: Better known as Battosai the uncoverer, is a realist swordsman who seeks to fulfill his dream of establishing a new era in Japan, where violence does not reign and there is peace, user of the style Hiten Mitsurugi, Kenshin fights in the shadows looking for light and peace, sacrificing all the lives that are necessary in order to achieve his goal. Even if he has to put his life and soul on the line, will Battosai be able to achieve his goal?

Honestly, I did not expect anything and I received too much from this wonderful delivery, a beautiful film, well cared for, it does not have exactly everything that happened in the original plot, but it leaves nothing to be desired and I consider it worth watching and appreciating.

Situados en el inicio de la historia del legendario Battosai, Kenshin Himura, pelea contra el control de los Shogun para instaurar un nuevo Japón de libertad. Kenshin portador del estilo único Hiten Mitsurugi, sacrificara todas las vidas que sean necesarias con tal de lograr la paz, es ahí cuando conoce a una linda chica llamada Tomoe, la cual se vuelve cada vez más y más cercana a este frío asesino. ¿Qué relación guardaran Kenshin y Tomoe? ¿Podrá Kenshin lograr su objetivo?

Con sinceridad, no me gustan mucho las adaptaciones a la realidad de Netflix, pero desde el fondo de mi corazón, me encanto en su totalidad esta. Totalmente pulida, apegada a la película original, los personajes perfectamente hechos y la actuación maravillosa, escenas que te envuelven en la trama y te rompen el corazón, a la vez que peleas estupendas y feroces, sin necesidad de incluir las técnicas de la ficción del anime, las batallas en sí estuvieron de lo más geniales, incluso el vestuario de los personajes me pareció excelente.

Al principio, cuando decidí verla pensé cosas que no crei posibles que adaptaran en un “Live Action”, esto me llevo a decir ¡Imposible que adapten las técnicas de Kenshin, seguramente las batallas serán aburridas y lineales! Por supuesto, me equivoque rotundamente, las peleas fueron profundas, siniestras, muy fluidas con movimientos asombrosos y sangre fluyendo por todos lados, la forma en la que aprovecharon el entorno a su favor, fue maravilloso, la estética de las katanas y los campos de batalla en extremo bien cuidados. Rivales a la par de los mejores guerreros de los Shogunes y revolucionarios dispuestos a dar su vida en la batalla por la nueva era.

• Espadas: Lo más común y lo que se aprecia en la película, es el estilo original de un samurái, la pelea con espadas y armas blancas, si bien hay muchos estilos de kendo, en esta el único mencionado fue el Hiten Mitsurugi el cual utiliza Kenshin.

• Herramientas Ninja: Esto es un arte muy vistoso y letal, el cual pudimos observar en varias ocasiones, utilizando una hoz con cadena, espadas cortas, arcos y otro tipo de armas.

• Puño Limpio: Si bien, lo normal es buscar asesinar a tu oponente de una forma rápida y letal, ahí usuarios que prefieren usar sus manos o incluso al pelear con espadas, utilizan sus manos como recurso para poder tomar a sus oponentes por sorpresa.

La verdad un aplauso para las personas encargadas de la escenografía, fue en extremo excelente, me encanto como lograron plasmar la era Tokugawa de una forma tan esplendida y apegada. Aspectos tan sencillos, pero a la vez tan simples como las fortalezas, senderos, ríos y bares fueron hechos tan bien al punto de sentirte totalmente dentro de la guerra, con samuráis rondando a lo largo de todo Japón y distintos peleadores cada uno con un destino a buscar.

Creo que es de las pocas veces que hablo acerca de esto (No se me nota tanto el interés por la cultura japonesa), pero considero que vale en exceso la pena denotar, lo muy bien echas que están las vestimentas de los actores involucrados en la cinta, las mujeres con un kimono de la época y dependiendo de su Estatus y los hombres, robustos y toscos portando sus herramientas asesinas en la cintura. Inclusive las Katanas parecen de lo más reales, con el diseño Hamon (Cosa de espadas), las cuales se asemejan lo más posible a la realidad de lo que son armas en la vida real, correspondiente a dicha cultura.

Como es habitual en cada una de las revisiones que realizo, procederé a dar una breve reseña de los personajes de la película que fueron los más importantes para mí de acuerdo a su desarrollo.

• Kenshin Himura: Mejor conocido como Battosai el destajador, es un espadachín de los realistas que buscan cumplir su sueño instaurar una nueva era en Japón, donde no reine la violencia y haya paz, usuario del estilo Hiten Mitsurugi, Kenshin pelea en la sombras buscando la luz y la paz, sacrificando todas las vidas que sean necesarias con tal de cumplir su meta. Aunque tenga que poner su vida y alma en juego, ¿Podrá Battosai lograr su objetivo?

• Tomoe Yukishiro: Linda chica de pequeña estatura y fría personalidad, esta chica conoce a nuestro protagonista cuando este lo defiende en un bar, es ahí cuando Tomoe comienza a acercarse a Kenshin, mas esta actitud tan extraña trae secretos ocultos, ¿Qué objetivos tendrá Tomoe?

Con sinceridad, no esperaba nada y recibí demasiado de parte de esta maravillosa entrega una película hermosa, bien cuidada, no tiene exactamente todo lo que ocurrió dentro de la trama original, mas no deja nada que desear y considero que vale mucho la pena verla y apreciarla.
