Samurai X or also known as Rurouni Kenshin was one of the first anime that I saw in my life, but it was not the anime that I watched the longest, that is to say, I remember that this anime was shown on national TV in my country, however, after watching a few chapters, I never really knew what the story was about, since I never continued watching this work as such, since I dedicated myself to watch others and also, I do not really remember if in that TV channel where they transmitted all the chapters, that is why this is one of the many anime that I have pending to watch for quite some time, however, Samurai X is one of the anime that I have been watching for quite a long time, I don't really remember if in that TV channel where Samurai X was broadcasted all the chapters, that's why this is one of the many anime that I have pending to see for quite some time, however, Samurai X is one of the best works made, that has no doubt and despite the lousy acts that its author has done, it is indisputable the repercussion that the story of this Samurai has had.

Despite having lost track of this work, I have been aware of certain things about it, such as that this year (2023) a new anime adaptation will be released, which looks spectacular, although I am still not convinced by the color palette they will use, as it looks very "saturated" and has a certain childish aspect, although with the little seen in the trailers, it looks like it will keep the violence and blood so characteristic of this work, so I am looking forward to seeing what this new adaptation will bring. However, there is another project regarding Samurai X of which I had been eager to see and of which I had seen some things and it is about its Live Action movies, which I have recently seen and I have to admit that they are spectacular.

Choreography, art, scenery and of course, characterization of characters Live Action are spectacular and without a doubt, is one of the best Live Action projects based on an anime/manga, ever made in history. Since 2012 until last year, movies have been published that summarize in a certain way (but in a spectacular way) everything that happened in the history of the anime, including the last movie which I will talk a little in this post and that chronologically is located long before the beginning of the story of the anime/manga, that is, being a prequel that teaches us how the characteristic scar in the form of X that has the protagonist of this story, Kenshin Himura, was born.

Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning, tells the events of how Kenshin, protagonist of the story, grows as a cold-blooded killer under the orders of a "rebel group" that wants to change the turns of the empire that was at that time, we are shown the audacity and skill at the time of killing this character and is the perfect movie to start this saga. Since as I mentioned before, chronologically within the story of this work, it is set many years before the beginning of the anime story and the main story, so having started by watching this movie was the best thing I could have done. The story of this Live Action movie was never adapted as such in the original anime, they only showed a few flashbacks of these events, but there is an OVA which, with a different animation and art style than the original anime, adapts the story of Kenshin's past.

The opening scene where Kenshin is captured and then released to later begin a massacre against all those who had captured him, is one of the best choreographed action scenes I've seen in a long time and after having seen this film and all the others, I think this is the one with the best action scenes, although I still have my doubts about choreography is the best, although something of which I am completely sure, is that, in terms of story, for me, Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning, is the one of all the movies, the best of all in plot and way of telling the origin story of this iconic character.

The characterization of Kenshin, the actor Takeru Satō, who plays the protagonist of this story (Kenshin Himura), stands out by far; he does a spectacular job not only in this specific film, but in all the films of this saga, at the level of interpretation and commitment to the character, rarely seen in any adaptation from any other medium. In fact, and if I'm not mistaken, Takeru Satō is a big fan of Rurouni Kenshin and for that reason his work in this saga is one of the best that has been seen in a Live Action adaptation of a manga/anime. The contrast between this film, where we see a more serious Kenshin, without showing many feelings and ruthless, with the other films, where we see a more "relaxed" and "happy" Kenshin due to what he has gone through and the changes in his life, although he still keeps that regret in his heart for everything he has done during his time as an assassin, is certainly a great job of interpretation worthy of admiration.

Now that I've seen all the Live Action movies, I'll start watching the original anime, manga and OVAS again, so I'll be prepared when the new adaptation of this great story starts again this year.

Samurai X o también conocido como Rurouni Kenshin fue uno de los primeros animes que vi en mi vida, pero no fue el anime del cual más tiempo estuve viendo, es decir, recuerdo que este anime lo pasaban por la TV nacional de mi país, sin embargo, luego de haber visto unos cuantos capítulos, nunca supe realmente de que se trataba la historia, ya que nunca continúe viendo esta obra como tal, ya que me dedique a ver otras y también, no recuerdo realmente si en ese canal de TV donde transmitían Samurai X llegaron a transmitir todos los capítulos, es por eso que este es uno de los tantos animes que tengo pendientes por ver desde hace bastante tiempo, sin embargo, Samurai X es unas de las mejores obras hechas, eso no tiene ningún tipo de duda y a pesar de los pésimos actos que ha hecho su autor, es indiscutible la repercusión que ha tenido la historia de este Samurai.

A pesar de haber perdido el rastro de esta obra, he estado pendiente de ciertas cosas sobre ella, como por ejemplo que este año (2023) se lanzara una nueva adaptación al anime, la cual se ve espectacular, aunque aún no me convence la paleta de colores que utilizaran, ya que se ve muy “saturada” y tiene cierto aspecto infantil, aunque con lo poco visto en los trailers, se ve que va a mantener la violencia y la sangre tan característica de esta obra, por lo tanto tengo muchas ganas de ver que traerá esta nueva adaptación. Sin embargo, hay otro proyecto con respecto a Samurai X del cual había tenido muchas ganas de ver y del cual algunas cosas había visto y es sobre sus Live Action en forma de películas, las cuales he visto hace poco y tengo que admitir que son espectaculares.

Coreografía, arte, escenografía y por supuesto, caracterización de personajes los Live Action son espectaculares y sin duda, es de los mejores proyectos Live Action basados en un anime/manga, jamás hechos en la historia. Desde el 2012 hasta el año pasado, se han estado publicando películas que resumen de cierta manera (pero de manera espectacular) todo lo acontecido en la historia del anime, incluso la última película del cual hablare un poco en este post y que cronológicamente está situada mucho antes del inicio de la historia del anime/manga, es decir, siendo una precuela que nos enseñan como nació la característica cicatriz en forma de X que tiene el protagonista de esta historia, Kenshin Himura.

Rurouni Kenshin: The Begining, cuenta los acontecimientos de como Kenshin, protagonista de la historia, crece como un asesino a sangre fría bajo las ordenes de un “grupo rebelde” que quiere cambiar los tornos del imperio que se encontraba en ese momento, nos muestran la audacia y destreza a la hora de matar de este personaje y es la película perfecta para empezar esta saga. Ya que como mencione antes, cronológicamente dentro de la historia de esta obra, se sitúa muchos años antes del inicio de la historia del anime y de la historia principal, por lo que haber empezado por ver esta película fue lo mejor que pude haber hecho. La historia de esta película Live Action nunca fue adaptada como tal en el anime original, tan solo mostraban unos cuantos flashbacks de estos acontecimientos, pero hay un OVA el cual, con un estilo de animación y arte diferente al del anime original, adapta la historia del pasado de Kenshin.

La escena inicial donde se encuentra Kenshin capturado y que luego de libera para posteriormente comenzar una masacre contra todos aquellos que lo habían capturado, es una de las escenas de acción mejor coreografiada que he visto en muchísimo tiempo y luego de haber visto esta película y todas las demás, creo que esta es la que mejor escenas de acción tiene, aunque aún tengo mis dudas sobre en cuanto a coreografía es la mejor, aunque algo de lo cual si estoy completamente seguro, es que, en cuanto a historia, para mí, Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning, es la de todas las películas, la mejor de todas en argumento y forma de contar la historia de origen de este emblemático personaje.

Destaca por mucho la caracterización de Kenshin, el actor Takeru Satō, el cual interpreta al protagonista de esta historia (Kenshin Himura); hace un trabajo espectacular no solo en esta película en específico, sino en todas las películas de esta saga, a nivel de interpretación y compromiso con el personaje, pocas veces se ha visto en alguna adaptación proveniente de algún otro medio. De hecho y si no me equivoco, Takeru Satō es un gran fan de Rurouni Kenshin y por ese motivo es que su trabajo en esta saga es de lo mejor que se ha visto en una adaptación Live Action de un manga/anime. El contraste que hay entre esta película, donde vemos a un Kenshin más serio, sin mostrar muchos sentimientos y despiadado, con las otras películas, donde se ve un Kenshin un poco más “relajado” y “feliz” debido a lo que ha pasado y en los cambios de su vida, a pesar de que aún mantiene ese pesar en su corazón por todo lo que ha hecho durante su época de asesino, es sin duda un gran trabajo de interpretación digno de admirar.

Ahora que ya vi todas le películas Live Action, empezare a ver nuevamente el anime original, manga y OVAS que hayan salido, para así estar preparado cuando se entrene la nueva adaptación de esta gran historia la cual empezara nuevamente este año.

Hello friends moviegoers, today I want to talk briefly about one of my favorite films of this year: Rurouni Kenshin The Beginning. I have always been very fond of this story, for me it has great depth since it represents the time of the change of a nation like Japan, a very strong cultural fact for the people of that time and I think that this manga knew how to reflect it very well .

Hola amigos cinéfilos, hoy les quiero hablar brevemente de una de mis películas favoritas de este año: Rurouni Kenshin El Comienzo. Siempre le he tenido mucho cariño a esta historia, para mi posee una gran profundidad ya que representa la época del cambio de una nación como Japón, un hecho cultural muy fuerte para las personas de aquella época y pienso que este manga lo supo reflejar muy bien.

The first thing I highlight is the context of the story. Japan has begun to open up to the world reluctantly, and that causes an internal crisis where those in power fear losing their privileges and see what they believe is a humiliation for Japan to accept foreign customs, while there is another group that wants to modernize to the country and make Japan become a world power. Battousai Himura belongs to the latter group, thus nicknamed for his reputation as a fearsome murderer in the shadows and his powerful sword technique that is capable of cutting hundreds of people to pieces in a short time. The film reflects very well this scenario where you can see a city of Kyoto faithful to its customs during the day, but at night rivers of blood flow under the sword of Kenshin Himura.

Lo primero que resalto es el contexto de la historia. Japón ha comenzado a abrirse al mundo de mala gana, y eso causa una crisis interna donde los que ostentan el poder temen perder sus privilegios y ven lo que creen es una humillación el que Japón acepte costumbres extranjeras, mientras que hay otro grupo que quiere modernizar al país y hacer que Japón se convierta en una potencia mundial. A este último grupo pertenece Battousai Himura, apodado así por su fama de temible asesino en las sombras y su poderosa técnica de espadas que es capaz de cortar a cientos de personas en pedazos en poco tiempo. La película refleja muy bien este escenario donde se puede observar una ciudad de Kioto fiel a sus costumbres durante el día, pero en la noche corren los rios de sangre bajo la espada de Kenshin Himura.

The backstory agrees perfectly with the manga, I think it is a very faithful adaptation, it does not miss any details, however there are some scenes where creative freedom was taken since it is impossible to fully reflect the narrative of a book, but beyond Of that the history of Kenshin and Tomoe Yukishiro is great, the actors represent those roles very well. Kenshin always quiet and taciturn little by little he leaves his cold personality when he feels the closeness of Tomoe, a tragedy brings them closer and a worse tragedy will separate them.

La historia de fondo concuerda perfectamente con el manga, creo que es una adaptación muy fiel, no deja escapar dellates, sin embargo hay algunas escenas donde se tomaron libertad creativa ya que es imposible reflejar en la totalidad la narrativa de un libro, pero más alla de eso la historia de Kenshin y Tomoe Yukishiro es genial, los actores representan muy bien esos roles. Kenshin siempre callado y taciturno poco a poco va dejando su fría personalidad al sentir la cercanía de Tomoe, Los acerca una tragedia y los separará una tragedia peor.

The coolest thing in my opinion is Kenshin Himura's shadow assassin side, he was selected for his powerful technique to carry out selective assassinations of government characters, he was hired by a faction that wanted to restore the full powers of the Emperor. Kenshin attacked in the shadows, his victims calling him demon, murderous eyes and the man who rained blood from the sky. His coldness, his gaze that reflected a youthful innocence concealed a life-destroying demon. In one of those attacks, he was tasked with eliminating some powerful government lords, he killed them all without mercy and quickly, only one of them managed to confront him, more because of his will to live than because of his power, so much was his will to live that managed to hit Kenshin in the face.

Lo más genial a mi parecer es la faceta de asesino en las sombras de Kenshin Himura, él fue seleccionado por su poderosa técnica para llevar a cabo asesinatos selectivos de personajes del gobierno, fue contratado por una facción que quería restaurar los plenos poderes del Emperador. Kenshin atacaba en la sombras, sus víctimas lo llamaban demonio, ojos asesino y el hombre que hacía llover sangre del cielo. Su frialdad, su mirada que reflejaba una inocencia juvenil ocultaban a un demonio destructor de vida. En uno de esos ataques se le encargó eliminar a unos poderosos señores del gobierno, los mató a todos sin piedad y rápidamente, solo uno de ellos logro hacerle frente, más por su voluntad de vivir que por su poder, tanto fue sus ganas de vivir que logro herir a Kenshin en la cara.

Now a part that I love and hate: The appearance of the Shinsengumi police. I love this part because just like in the manga, the anime and the Eggs, these samurais were also fearsome, true masters of the art of the sword and they were hunting the revolutionaries. The film faithfully reflects this group in attitude, swordplay, and dress. You can see the 3 main captains of each troop, especially Okita Souji and Hajime Saito. When Kenshin goes to help his friends he meets Okita on the road and they have a fight that is very even, Kenshin is amazed to see Okita's technique. Then Hajime Saito appears and this is the part that hurt me the most, since I expected the fight between the two rivals of the Tokugawa era but no, they eliminated him and did not go beyond a few simple looks. In the entire series of films they never fought, in the first of all they had a brief combat that meant nothing. Saito is a character that barely has like 3 dialogues, I think the character was not used well in this franchise since he is the counterpart of Battousai.

Ahora una parte que amo y odio: La aparición de la policía Shinsengumi. Amo esta parte porque tal como en el manga, el anime y las Ovas, estos samurais también eran temibles, verdaderos maestros en el arte de la espada y andaban cazando a los revolucionarios. La película refleja fielmente a este grupo tanto en actitud, manejo de la espada y vestimenta. Se puede ver a los 3 capitanes principales de cada tropa, en especial a Okita Souji y Hajime Saito. Kenshin cuando va a ayudar a sus amigos se encuentra en el camino con Okita y mantienen un combate que esta muy parejo, Kenshin se asombra al ver la técnica de Okita. Luego aparece Hajime Saito y esta es la parte que mas me dolió, ya que esperaba elo combate entre los dos rivales de la era Tokugawa pero no, lo eliminaron y no pasaron de unas simples miradas. En toda la saga de películas nunca lucharon, en la primera de todas sostuvieron un breve combate que no significó nada. Saito es un personaje que apenas tiene como 3 diálogos, creo que no se utilizó bien al personaje en esta franquicia ya que es la contraparte de Battousai.

The memorable ending, we understand the true drama of Battoisai and why he later becomes a wanderer who promises not to kill again. Betrayals are discovered and a macabre game that falls on Kenshin like karma, the origin of the scar on his cheek is powerful and we understand his personality and his motives. The truth is that this movie left me satisfied, it is in my opinion the best Live Action adaptation made so far. It's true to history, true to manga, and it fulfilled my dream of being able to see the legendary Battosai. The only thing I disagree on is the order in which it came out, to be a prequel I think it should have been released in 4th place, before the Enishi arc, so people outside the story would understand it better. However, the story is still understood and it will hook anyone who has not read the manga or the anime .. I promised to be brief so I say goodbye to you soon ..

El final memorable, entendemos el verdadero drama de Battoisai y el por qué luego se convierte en un vagabundo que promete no volver a matar. Se decubren las traciones y un juego macabro que cae sobre Kenshin como un karma, el origen de la cicatriz en su mejilla es poderoso y entendemos su personalidad y sus motivos. La verdad esta película me dejó satisfecho, es a mi parecer la mejor adaptación Live Action hecha hasta ahora. Es fiel a la historia, fiel al manga y cumplió mi sueñó de poder ver al legendario Battosai. Lo único en lo que discrepo es en el orden en el que salió, para ser una precuela creo que debió ser estrenada en 4to lugar, antes del arco de Enishi, así las personas ajenas a la historia lo entenderían mejor. Sin embargo igual se entiende la historia y enganchará a cualquiera que no haya leído el manga o el ánime.. Prometí ser breve así que me despido hasta pronto..

Yesterday late at night when I was a little more unoccupied with my personal obligations, I gave myself the task of watching this installment of the saga of Rurouni Kenshin, in this case the second part of this sequel. Weeks ago I addressed in question the first part in a previous post, and I specified that I would address this after July 30 but for certain circumstances and personal responsibilities I could not previously until now, that's why it will be a pleasure for me to culminate with what I started some time ago giving the attention and deserved opinion to this installment, which personally I really liked and there are certain aspects that are consistent in comparison to the presentation of the animated ova some time ago of this franchise and others that are not, but are well incorporated from my perspective, so without further ado let's start.

Ayer a altas horas de la noche al estar un poco mas desocupado con mis obligaciones personales, me di la tarea de ver esta entrega de la saga de Rurouni Kenshin, en este caso la segunda parte de esta secuela. Semanas atrás aborde en cuestión la primera parte en un post anterior, y especifique que abordaría esta después del 30 de Julio pero por ciertas circunstancias y responsabilidades personales no pude anteriormente hasta ahora, es por eso que será un placer para mi culminar con lo que comencé hace tiempo atrás dándole la atención y opinión merecida a esta entrega, que en lo personal me gusto mucho y hay ciertos aspectos que van acorde en comparación a la presentación del ova animado hace tiempo atrás de esta franquicia y otras que no, pero están bien incorporadas desde mi perspectiva, así que sin mas preámbulo comencemos.

La dirección de la película está dirigida por Keishi Otomo y la emisión de la misma fue el 4 de Junio del 2021, esta entrega en cuestión es la segunda parte de una secuela Rurouni Kenshin: The final (2021) siendo el quinto film cinematográfico y ultimo de esta saga de películas Rurouni Kenshin: Origin 2012, en esta última entrega nos vemos involucrados como espectadores en el pasado de nuestro protagonista Kenshim cuando era en su momento un asesino activo que mataba a personas dirigentes o partidarias del Shogunato, por una nueva era de paz, igual que en las anteriores entregas esta tendrá ligeros cambios para que se presente de la forma más concisa y practica posible.

En esta secuela nos transportamos al pasado en el cual se nos muestra con mayor detalle a nuestro protagonista Kenshin, cuando estaba al servicio de un grupo de idealistas rebeldes que estaban en contra del shogunato de la época, siguiendo aquel ideal de matar solo aquellas figuras necesarias vinculadas o siendo partidarias del Shogun con la finalidad de construir una nueva era de paz a costa de la vidas de otros. Pero hará acto de presencia en el pasado de nuestro protagonista, la figura de una mujer muy importante de la cual llegara a nuestro asesino de maneras y formas que él no creería capaz, mostrándonos una nueva faceta de su parte muy interesante que se verá más destacable a medida de que la trama se desenlaza y con esto también un conjunto de conflictos emocionales por parte de esta figura femenina en cuestión, así como su interacción con la misma.

Personal opinion / Opinión personal

The truth with this latest installment in both sequel and narrative eh story or film plot, I was really quite pleased with how they approached and interpreted that set of actors in specific, I would start with the position of our protagonist, Kenshin we can see with a little more detail the cold, melancholy and sad posture rooted in the, an individual who clings faithfully to his ideals and who recognizes that he must stain his hands for a greater purpose, a dirty job like the mere act of murder affects him and hurts him but his conviction is greater and duty is much greater, in this installment I really liked how this actor in question conveyed that set of aspects corporeally.

The next aspect in question was the introduction of this female figure in question into Kenshim's life. Tomoe has a significant and very important impact, and I am not only referring to the impact and closeness that she will show us progressively as the story progresses and we can see certain traits of Kenshin that in previous installments will be much more noticeable and rooted in him, but she will help him to make the best decision of his life that he will follow and put into practice in his day to day life once he consolidates his ideal in the new era of peace for which he fights.

For me both Tomoe and Kenshin were sad figures, but in spite of that I really enjoyed their interactions and to see how those traits gradually disappeared and became more meaningful, I liked it a lot. In other aspects as I mentioned in previous installments of this saga, the choreography in single combat or in joint battles is very good, we can also notice the participation of other members in this installment and know a little more of their past, compared to the animated ova when we were shown the past of Kenshin if there were certain changes mainly at the beginning and halves except for the denouement, but if it maintains as such the plot and the essence of the same in question.

And with this ends my opinion, the truth is I feel pleased and fulfilled to review both this installment and this whole saga, I enjoyed it a lot, you should give it a chance and if you decide to do so and see it from the beginning in my blog you can also see the previous characteristic reviews to other deliveries if you are interested in having an opinion also of each of them, without further ado thank you for coming here and are films of a duration of 2 hours take it easy, until next time.

La verdad con esta última entrega tanto en secuela como en narrativa eh historia o trama cinematográfica, realmente quede bastante complacido en como lo abordaron y lo interpretaron ese conjunto de actores en especifico, me gustaría comenzar con la postura de nuestro protagonista, de Kenshin podemos ver con un poco mas de detalles la postura fría, melancólica y triste arraigada en el, un individuo que se aferra fielmente a sus ideales y que reconoce que debe mancharse las manos por una finalidad mayor, un trabajo sucio como el mero acto de asesinar le afecta y le duele pero su convicción es mayor y deber es mucho mas grande, en esta entrega me gusto mucho como este actor en cuestión transmitió ese conjunto de aspectos corporalmente.

El siguiente aspecto en cuestión fue la introducción de esta figura femenina en cuestión en la vida de Kenshim. Tomoe tiene un impacto significativo y muy importante, y no solo me refiero al impacto y cercanía que nos mostrara de forma progresiva a medida de que avance la historia y podamos ver ciertos rasgos de Kenshin que en las entregas anteriores serán mucho más notorios y arraigados en el, si no que ella de gran forma le ayudara a tomar la mejor decisión de su vida que lo encaminara a seguir y poner en práctica en su día a día una vez que consolide su ideal en la nueva era de paz por la cual el lucha.

Para mi tanto Tomoe como Kenshim fueron figuras tristes, pero a pesar de ello disfrute mucho sus interacciones y ver como esos rasgos de a poco desaparecían y se convertían, en algo más significativo me gusto bastante. En otros aspectos como mencione en antiguas entregas sobre esta saga la coreografía en el combate singular o en conjunto en batallas es muy buena, también podemos notar la participación de otros miembros en esta entrega y saber un poco más de su pasado, en comparación el ova animado cuando se nos mostro el pasado de kenshin si hubo ciertos cambios principalmente al comienzo y mitades exceptuando el desenlace, pero si mantiene como tal la trama y la esencia de la misma en cuestión.

Y con esto termina mi opinión, la verdad me siento complacido y realizado por reseñar tanto esta entrega como toda esta saga, lo disfrute bastante, deberían darle una oportunidad y si en tal caso deciden hacerlo y verla desde el comienzo en mi blog podrán ver también las anteriores reseñas características a las demás entregas por si les interesaría tener una opinión también de cada una de ellas, sin mas preámbulo gracias por llegar hasta aquí y son películas de una duración de 2 horas tómenlo con calma, hasta la próxima.
