I am a huge fan of the first Jurassic Park Trilogy and I admit that I was quite skeptical about this first chapter of the new trilogy. After the film, however, I clearly changed my mind and I liked it so much to see it again after a few days. The narration is very fluid, it binds well to the previous trilogy and the new actors act really well and seem to me very well inserted in the dynamics of the story.
Plot
The first chapter of the new trilogy begins with the construction of the Jurassic theme park on the island of Isla Nublar, finally functional and an attraction for thousands of tourists, eager to admire the beautiful historical creatures. Claire Dearing is the park's new manager and welcomes her grandchildren to visit Jurassic World, albeit very busy checking that all the facilities are up and running.
Meanwhile, the InGen geneticists, led by Dr. Henry Wu, are creating a new species of dinosaur by combining the DNA of various predatory dinosaurs and other animals in order to attract more people and recall Owen, ex-marine and Velociraptor tamer, to view the new dinosaur before exposing it to the public. The new dinosaur called Indominus rex proves to be very intelligent and deceives the staff involved in its control by managing to escape from the cage and endangering all visitors to the park.
The Indominus Rex kills the dinosaurs he encounters during his journey, freeing several caged dinosaurs that spill over tourists, among whom are Claire's grandchildren who manage to escape and join the aunt and the expert again Owen. Just the latter, during his training with 4 velociraptors in particular, had created a bond with these creatures which will prove to be fundamental in the final battle against the Indominus rex.
But Claire resorts to the help of the T-Rex, the same dinosaur from the first film, who manages to defeat the Indominus Rex and flees into the forest. All visitors leave Isla Nublar which is once again conquered by free dinosaurs
My Opinion
The film is very pleasant, the special effects are very beautiful and are fundamental for the appearance of the dinosaurs. Comparing the dinosaurs of the first film, obviously those present in Jurassic World are much more realistic, the details of each individual creature are impressive. I really like the actors Chris Pratt (Owen) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire): they are fun and very expressive, certainly remarkable presences. The soundtrack is really enjoyable, I like to listen to it even as I write this review and I am very happy that the Main Theme has also been used in this new trilogy because as soon as the music starts ... my mind returns to my youth, when I watched the films of the first trilogy with my family.
