  1. Jurassic World : A Poor Rebirth (Movie Review)@oluchi31264d

There’s this feeling of dread that nags at me, everytime I find that there’s a sequel to a film I enjoyed watching. Maybe it’s because I’ve had my fair share of disappointments with sequels or it’s my fear of having my favorite movies spoilt due to poor pacings, but I can’t seem to write off that feeling most of the time. I’ve always been a huge fan of Jurassic World, from childhood. So when I saw a new one was released this year, I just had to watch it, notwithstanding the tingling feeling that came with just discovering the sequel.

Jurassic World Rebirth is a 2025 adventure horror movie starring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and Luna Blaise. It follows covert operations expert, Zora Bennet, and Martin Krebs, teaming up to recruit a team of operatives to a dangerous island inhabited by the most vicious dinosaurs known to mankind. Their mission is simply to extract DNA from the three largest dinosaurs, to produce a drug that will be a breakthrough in the health sector. They embark on the journey, excited for what the success of the operation holds for each of them, but how long will the excitement last, before they’re transported to death staring them in the face?

Everytime I watch this series, I can’t help but think of the possibility that these producers are trying to pass a message to the general public. What if this is their way of telling us that something we all think is extinct, actually exists? What is the possibility that dinosaurs exist but are being kept hostage somewhere far from the eyes of the general public? I enjoy the storylines of films like this but what if? Just what if it?

At this point, I think these producers should start coming up with new ideas, other than trying to create spin offs of existing masterpieces. It’s becoming annoying because they rarely keep up with the pace, thereby destroying what we once held dear. This was the least satisfying of all the Jurassic worlds I’ve watched. There were loopholes in the storylines, leaving you with lingering questions rather than pure satisfaction. There were so many things that were introduced in this film, that were quite pointless because while their appearance made sense, the writers couldn’t keep up with them for the entirety of the film, and left them MIA. What did they expect us to do with bits and pieces?

The CGI was where this movie triumphed. The dinosaurs were more realistic than the four legged creatures we’d been seeing in its predecessors. They seemed realer here, and I liked that. There’s also the scenery, the graphics and the cinematography, it was impressive. The suspense in this drama was also another aspect i liked. There were scenes that had me holding my phone farther away, because I couldn’t bear to see what would happen next. This also, was worthy of commendation.

The acting was what you’d describe as basic. It wasn’t spectacular in anyway, nor was it downright bad. It felt like their main goal was to ensure the script was brought to live, and not the character’s emotions. This made the viewing experience feel somewhat shallow, seeing that the characters didn’t act like they experienced what they ought to have experienced being in such situation.

I’ll rate this movie a 5.5/10, thanks to its amazing visuals. This is the typical drama you watch to while away time, and not because you want to actually enjoy a movie. I wouldn’t recommend if you’re the type that watches movie for entertainment.

    Thanks for reading.

  2. Jurassic World: A compelling sequel@claudio831924d

Jurassic Park is a very important title for my teenage life and I still remember well that beautiful bad day spent at the cinema with my older brother in 1993, a success that did not have a great following with chapter 2 and above all the more disappointing chapter 3 When I learned about the new saga, Jurassic World, a sequel to the 90s trilogy, I admit that I feared the worst, although I was comforted by the presence of Steven Spielberg as a producer.

Jurassic World, more than 20 years after Jurassic Park, has considerably improved in terms of graphic effects: here the dinosaurs are made in computer graphics with a very high visual effect while in the first film the Jurassic animals were made of paper and similar materials. . The cast has been completely revolutionized, there is no protagonist in the trilogy, and the story tells of the redevelopment of the island of Isla Nublar, after 22 years from the previous accident that caused victims and damage such as to have to leave the park .

With new technologies and new investors, making the park safer and more enjoyable for the visitor experience. The novelty consists in the creation of genetically modified dinosaurs in order to obtain new species and develop new behavioral characteristics, with the presumption of domesticating the Jurassic creatures. Genetics fails in its plan, proving that it is not possible to tame creatures with an innate instinct for hunting like the Rex, the most fearsome and violent among dinosaurs, also developing a superior intelligence that will be able to deceive the same scientists.

A new escape of the animals and the park goes back in time, when the disaster began. This time to remedy there will be Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), former military and now trainer of velociraptors, with whom he has shown to have a certain feeling. Owen will have to rescue Claire's grandchildren, the park manager, who are missing on the island after the escape of the Tyrannosaurus Rex and all the other dangerous animals kept in the park.

The tragedy is looming. Claire's nieces repeatedly come close to death after close encounters with fearsome dinosaurs, including the Rex, but eventually manage to reunite with Aunt Claire and Owen. As in a horror movie, in the end the group finds themselves facing the T-Rex and thanks to the help of the velociraptors and an unexpected ally, they will be able to escape.

My impressions are very positive, past the impact of the new protagonists, the story is well constructed and compelling. The special effects have definitely improved the appearance of the dinosaurs but also of the scenography in general: more details, colors and emotions. I love the soundtrack they left intact and that always makes my heart tremble a little. The film was a huge grossing success with over $ 500 million and garnered many international accolades. I recommend the vision to fans of the trilogy as long as you liberate any prejudice with respect to the original movie.

    I love it

  3. [Movie Review] Jurassic World@claudio832313d

I am a huge fan of the first Jurassic Park Trilogy and I admit that I was quite skeptical about this first chapter of the new trilogy. After the film, however, I clearly changed my mind and I liked it so much to see it again after a few days. The narration is very fluid, it binds well to the previous trilogy and the new actors act really well and seem to me very well inserted in the dynamics of the story.

    Plot

The first chapter of the new trilogy begins with the construction of the Jurassic theme park on the island of Isla Nublar, finally functional and an attraction for thousands of tourists, eager to admire the beautiful historical creatures. Claire Dearing is the park's new manager and welcomes her grandchildren to visit Jurassic World, albeit very busy checking that all the facilities are up and running.

Meanwhile, the InGen geneticists, led by Dr. Henry Wu, are creating a new species of dinosaur by combining the DNA of various predatory dinosaurs and other animals in order to attract more people and recall Owen, ex-marine and Velociraptor tamer, to view the new dinosaur before exposing it to the public. The new dinosaur called Indominus rex proves to be very intelligent and deceives the staff involved in its control by managing to escape from the cage and endangering all visitors to the park.

The Indominus Rex kills the dinosaurs he encounters during his journey, freeing several caged dinosaurs that spill over tourists, among whom are Claire's grandchildren who manage to escape and join the aunt and the expert again Owen. Just the latter, during his training with 4 velociraptors in particular, had created a bond with these creatures which will prove to be fundamental in the final battle against the Indominus rex.

But Claire resorts to the help of the T-Rex, the same dinosaur from the first film, who manages to defeat the Indominus Rex and flees into the forest. All visitors leave Isla Nublar which is once again conquered by free dinosaurs

    My Opinion

The film is very pleasant, the special effects are very beautiful and are fundamental for the appearance of the dinosaurs. Comparing the dinosaurs of the first film, obviously those present in Jurassic World are much more realistic, the details of each individual creature are impressive. I really like the actors Chris Pratt (Owen) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire): they are fun and very expressive, certainly remarkable presences. The soundtrack is really enjoyable, I like to listen to it even as I write this review and I am very happy that the Main Theme has also been used in this new trilogy because as soon as the music starts ... my mind returns to my youth, when I watched the films of the first trilogy with my family.

  5. Reviewing Movies I Don't Like: Jurassic World@namiks3115d

    Jurassic World.jpg

Jurassic Park has cemented itself as a truly exceptional film, and one of the best films to have been released in the 90s. Its revolutionary methods of filmmaking through both computer generated special effects and use of robotics changed the way we see things on our screens that we could never otherwise see.

Its dedication to being something truly great and unique is forever evident in its narrative; its love for dinosaurs extends beyond the characters and into the filmmakers themselves. Jurassic Park isn't just a film about dinosaurs, after all, it's about our perception of some of the most dangerous creatures to have ever walked on Earth, yet our blindness in believing we could control them.

For the most part, I was excited for Jurassic World when it was announced, but I was rather sceptical of its quality given the world of reboots is a complete and utter bore. It's unfortunate to say that Jurassic World is one of such reboots, and its attempts to piggyback off the original Jurassic Park films simply fall flat and offer little to no substance to a world we've already seen so much of. It doesn't carry the weight of the originals with its dedication, its lovable characters, and its thrill for dinosaurs.

Instead, we have rather boring characters, that once again with reboots, are given very little time to be introduced, but are introduced mostly through their oh-so-quirky humour. A narrative that is stupidly similar to the originals, with it almost being difficult to call a reboot and not just a remake. And its downright silliness when it comes to cinematic teasing. It carries the familiar pacing of modern cinema, and it is one I despise.

That said, Jurassic World isn't terrible. It's worth watching, but certainly not if you expect another thrill in the universe of Jurassic Park. Consider it an okay-ish fan-fiction with a moderately high budget.
