Yo antes de tí. La película. Me Before You. The movie.

CARTA DE WILL A LOU.
Clark:
Siempre has hablado demasiado. Vive bien. Vive. Con amor, Will.

LETTER FROM WILL TO LOU.
Clark:
By the time you read this it will have been a few weeks (even with your newfound organizational skills I doubt you will have arrived in Paris before the beginning of September). I hope the coffee is good and strong and the croissants are fresh and the weather is still nice enough to sit outside in one of those metal chairs that never quite sit firmly on the sidewalk. Not bad, the Marquis. The steak is tasty too, in case you feel like coming back later for lunch. And if you look down the street, on your left, you'll see L'Artisan Parfumeur, where, when you're done reading this menu, you should go try the scent called something like Papillons Extrême (I can't quite remember). I always thought it would suit you very well. Okay, no more orders. There are a few things I would have liked to say to you and I would have said them in person, but, first of all, you would have gotten all sentimental and, secondly, you wouldn't have let me say everything I wanted to say. You've always talked too much. So, here it is: the check you received in the initial envelope from Michael Lawler was not the full amount, but just a small gift, to help you through the first few weeks of unemployment, and to get you to Paris. When you return to England, take this letter to Michael in his London office and he will give you the relevant documents to access the account he has opened in your name. This account contains enough for you to buy yourself a nice place to live, to pay your tuition and to cover your expenses while you are a full-time student. My parents will already be informed about this. I hope this, and Michael Lawler's legal work, will simplify things as much as possible. Clark, I can almost hear you starting to hyperventilate from here. Don't get on your nerves or try to give it away: it's not enough for you to sit on your hands for the rest of your life. But it should be enough to buy you freedom, both from that claustrophobic little town we both call home and from the choices you've been forced to make so far. I'm not giving you this money because I want you to feel nostalgic or indebted to me, nor am I giving it to be some sort of damned souvenir. I give it to you because almost nothing makes me happy at this point but you. I am aware that meeting me has caused you pain and grief, and I hope that one day, when you are less angry with me, you will understand that not only did I do the only thing I could do, but that it is going to help you live a good life, a better life, than if you had not met me. You're going to feel uncomfortable in your new world for a while. It's always strange to see us out of the place where we were comfortable. But I hope you'll also feel a little blissful. When you came back from scuba diving that time, your face told me everything: there's longing in you, Clark. Boldness. You'd just buried it, like most everyone else. I'm not asking you to throw yourself off a skyscraper or swim with whales or anything like that (although, secretly, I'd love to think you are), but I am asking you to live boldly. Be demanding of yourself. Don't settle. Wear those striped leotards with pride. And, if you insist on settling for some ridiculous type, keep some of this money safe. Knowing you still have a chance is a luxury. Knowing that I may have provided them for you has been a great relief to me. That's all. You're etched in my heart, Clark. From the first day I saw you, with those ridiculous clothes and those silly jokes and your complete inability to conceal a single one of your emotions. You've changed my life a hell of a lot more than this money will change yours. Don't remember me too much. I don't want to think you're going to get maudlin. Live well. Live. Love, Will.
Me Before You. It is a very entertaining, tender and controversial film. With a deep and sweeping theme. At the end we see Clark, in a restaurant in Paris reading this letter. I'm going to talk about this part of the movie.

¿Ella debe estar feliz?
After a long sigh, my mind did not stop working. I never expected that the end of the movie would provoke such deep mixed feelings.
Questions immediately arose:
Should she be happy? Would it be okay to get all that money? Why me before you? Wasn't love great and powerful enough to make Will want to go on living? Should we settle and accept a second chance at life? Are we so much masters of our lives that we can decide whether to be alive or not?

Believe it or not, I haven't been able to answer all these questions yet, but I can tell you that Clark is determined to live. She's made her trip to Paris, she's worn her bumblebee socks, and I'm sure she'll finish her studies. In this letter Will presents her with a picture of life she may never have imagined. The generosity, authenticity, sincerity and sensitivity that characterize her are the virtues that made it possible for Will to live moments of happiness in the last days of her existence. Unfortunately, neither Clark's love nor that of his parents was enough to make him give up his trip to Switzerland.

¿Notamos algún cambio en Will?
Will and Clark are drawn together in a beautiful relationship of friendship and love. These characters evolve and yet the central theme of the plot continues. **I Before You allows us to view the world from two perspectives of life. One that is just beginning and one that is about to end. Do we notice any changes in Will? How does Will face his last days after meeting Clark?

The diseases related to the spine are one of the most treated by specialists, however in most patients it causes partial or total immobility. I was left wondering if in the paraplegic condition Will could have had pleasurable sexual relations with Clark.
In one of the scenes he tells her: "you don't know how many things go through my mind, you can't imagine everything I want to do to you", after a passionate and tender kiss.
So I think that the sexual approach between couples, from Will's point of view, is very important, why be with her if he could not provide her with all the joy and happiness that the sexual act implies?
There are many issues raised in this film. As I said at the beginning, I still can't stop thinking about it. The film is very beautiful. It hooks you. It pulls at every fiber of your body. You won't regret watching it. It's called I Before You. Starring Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin. Don't miss it.
Another interesting issue that arises is that of euthanasia. We have heard a lot about it, but what is your opinion about it. After watching this film you will be able to make an analysis to decide whether it would be acceptable or not.
