In the meantime, I've noticed that I haven't talked about one of the best series ever made: Fleabag. Fleabag is a series that arises from a monologue created by Phoebe Waller-Brigde that after its successful first season decided to end on a high note with a second season so well written that it seems even a lie. It is difficult to find objectivity in this review because it is a series that filled me and made me feel like very few series, so I will speak from a very personal point, hoping that at least one person will see this incredible series.

Fleabag es una serie que surge de un monologo creado por Phoebe Waller-Brigde que tras su exitosa primera temporada decidió terminar por todo lo alto con una segunda temporada tan bien escrita que parece incluso una mentira. Difícilmente van a encontrar objetividad en esta reseña ya que es una serie que me lleno y me hizo sentir como muy pocas series, así que hablare desde un punto muy personal, esperando que así, al menos una persona vea esta serie tan increíble.

Fleabag follows the life of Fleabag, a young Londoner who owns a quirky cafe and has an interesting sex life to say the least. The series paints itself as a comedy, and understandably so, as it gets the hang of that awkward and weird comedy based on forced everyday moments and out-of-place comments, it is a non-stop laugh, but with the audacity to also tell a story of drama alongside the plot of following our protagonist in what can be counted as a coming of ages about this adult who is still not quite right, either financially or mentally.

Fleabag sigue la vida de Fleabag, una joven londinense que es dueña de un extravagante café y que tiene una vida sexual cuanto menos interesante. La serie se pinta como una comedia, y es entendible, ya que al agarrarle la mano a esa comedia incomoda y rara basada en momentos cotidianos forzados y comentarios fuera de lugar, es un no parar de reír, pero con la audacia de también contar una historia de drama junto a la trama de seguir a nuestra protagonista en lo que se puede contar como un coming of ages sobre esta adulta que aún no se encuentra del todo bien, ni económica, ni mentalmente

Added to this is the constant breaking of the fourth wall by the protagonist, which creates both hilarious and witty moments in what comes across as a script that really very few people could write, especially coming from a single person who in turn is the lead actress of the story. The journey of the first season is amazing and takes a few moments to show the mental state of our protagonist and explain to us why she acts how she acts, even becoming annoying at some point but in a good way, as you know she can be a better person who at times tries and at others gives up. Then comes a PERFECT second season with one of the most charismatic characters I've ever seen in the history of the series and a chemistry as incredible as it is precious with its two main characters. In this second season comes "the father" and the series goes up a thousand percent, since a year has passed from its first season and we see Fleabag in a better place, both physically and psychologically, so they have to deliver us something different but at the same time bearable with the frenetic pace of its first season, and for that it shows us how a relationship is sewn from the moment they meet until...Well, I hope you see it soon.

A esto se le suma la constante ruptura de la cuarta pared por parte de la protagonista, lo que crea momentos tanto hilarantes como ingeniosos en lo que se nota como un guión que realmente muy pocas personas podrían escribir, sobre todo viniendo de una sola persona que a su vez es la actriz protagonista de la historia. El viaje de la primera temporada es asombroso y se toma algunos momentos para mostrar el estado mental de nuestra protagonista y explicarnos el porqué actúa cómo actúa, llegando incluso a molestar en algún momento pero de buena manera, ya que sabes que puede ser una mejor persona que en momentos lo intenta y en otros se rinde.

Después, llega una segunda temporada PERFECTA con uno de los personajes más carismáticos que he visto en la historia de las series y una química tan increíble como preciosa junto a sus dos protagonistas. En esta segunda temporada llega “el padre” y la serie sube un mil por ciento, ya que ha pasado un año de su primera temporada y vemos a Fleabag en un lugar mejor, tanto física como psicológicamente, así que nos tienen que entregar algo diferente pero que sea al mismo tiempo llevadero con el ritmo frenético de su primera temporada, y para eso nos muestra como se cose una relación desde el momento en que se conocen hasta…Bueno, espero lo vean pronto

Besides that, Fleabag has interesting tidbits like the fact that no character has their own name or that the fourth wall is broken in a different way, making the series feel like something new, with a format of less than half hour episodes that also serve to make you take the series lightly or watch all the chapters at once. Definitely a series that deserves more support.

Además de eso, Fleabag tiene cositas interesantes como el hecho de que ningún personaje tiene nombre propio o que la cuarta pared se rompe de una forma diferente, haciendo que la serie se sienta como algo nuevo, con un formato de episodios de menos de media hora que también sirven para que te tomes la serie a la ligera o para que veas todos los capítulos de golpe. Sin duda, una serie que merece más apoyo.
