Hace algunos años recuerdo a ver visto Supergirl en una serie que trasmitían WB pero la verdad, es que esta que es interpretada por Milly Alcock no tiene nada que ver con la que alguna vez conocí. En esta película la actriz nos presenta una versión que además de fascinante, refresca al personaje alejándose por completo del modelo de los superhéroes. Milly Alcock ha hecho de Kara una heroína profundamente compleja. Es increíblemente sensible, pero a la vez posee una dureza implacable forjada por todo lo que le ha tocado vivir.

I remember watching Supergirl a few years ago on a show that aired on the WB, but honestly, the version played by Milly Alcock has nothing to do with the one I once knew. In this movie, the actress presents a version of the character that is not only fascinating but also refreshing, breaking completely away from the traditional superhero mold. Milly Alcock has turned Kara into a deeply complex heroine. She’s incredibly sensitive, yet at the same time possesses a relentless toughness forged by everything she’s been through.

Realmente el guion estuvo un poco flojo y ese villano de seguro que olvidaran su nombre como lo hice yo. Pero a pesar de esos detalles, la película no ha estado nada mal. La dirección es buenísima, la película cuenta con un humor bastante limitado pero que no parezca una comedia, las escenas de acción pudieron ser más potentes pero tampoco estuvieron mal. Lo digo en serio, mi esposa y yo la disfrutamos mucho, no nos aburrió aun cuando el ritmo podría estar como una montaña rusa y creo que eso fue lo que ayudo. Por ejemplo, las canciones suelen tener ese sube y baja para mantener al oyente conectado así que eso puede ser uno de los puntos importantes por lo que la película realmente no aburre, entretiene.

Honestly, the script was a little weak, and I’m sure you’ll forget that villain’s name just like I did. But despite those details, the movie wasn’t bad at all. The direction is excellent; the movie has a fairly subtle sense of humor without feeling like a comedy, and while the action scenes could have been more intense, they weren’t bad either. I mean it—my wife and I really enjoyed it. We weren’t bored, even though the pacing was a bit of a roller coaster, and I think that’s what helped. For example, songs often have those ups and downs to keep the listener engaged, so that might be one of the key reasons why the movie isn’t actually boring it’s entertaining.

Para mí Milly Alcock nació para ser Kara, Supergirl. Es extraordinaria, asombrosa y divertida y Jason Momoa como de costumbre, se roba todo el show, caótico, salvaje y gracioso, para mí los mejores de toda la película. Sin miedo la podría volver a ver y de seguro, la volvería a disfrutar. Aun cuando espero que su segunda película sea aún más profunda, con un villano que recordemos. En conclusión, una buena película de DC comics.

To me, Milly Alcock was born to be Kara, Supergirl. She’s extraordinary, amazing, and funny, and Jason Momoa, as usual, steals the show chaotic, wild, and funny and for me, he’s the best part of the whole movie. I could easily watch it again and would definitely enjoy it just as much. Even so, I hope the second movie will be even more profound, with a villain we’ll remember. In conclusion, it’s a good DC Comics movie.
