Just looking at the title of this movie, it's so pretty, isn't it? But like 1976's Carrie, it's a cool name and an extremely scary movie. Let's start with scenes from "Christine (1983)", another horror masterpiece from John Carpenter, directorof Michael Myers' Halloween series, which never runs, walks slowly, but knows exactly where he wants to kill and findsit. This movie is based on the novel by Stephen King.
Christine is the name given to a car by the protagonist of this movie. However , the problem is that this car is inherently possessed by the devil. At the time, it was just a movie, but since the 1990s, it has become a cult classic. The 'devil's car' was written by the 1958 Plymouth Fury, and the story goes like this: In an American high school, there is a nerd named Arnie, and his cool friend, Dennis, who protects him. Arnie is always bullied by the school thugs, and a shy Arnie buys a junk car she stumbles upon thinking that she might be able to somehow manage her own car.
After that, Arnie is so obsessed with this car (probably the car seduced Arnie), and I don't know what happened, but her personality gradually changes. He starts dating a cool girl who has just transferred to school, and even drinks and cigarettes that he couldn't drink - he turns violent, and people around him wonder if this car might be the cause.
School thugs don't like Arnie's car, so one night they completely destroy it. Arnie finds her car broken the next day and is very discouraged, and while trying to fix it that night, she discovers that the car is self-fixing little by little. From that day on, Arnie believes that this car has life and begins to love a woman. As if realizing this, the demon's car begins to kill Arnie and the people around him who are hostile to him one by one. The ending ends with Dennis flattening this demon's car with a heavy machine and 'cutting it off'. This car that makes me nervous every time I see it, in fact, the 1958 Plymouth Fury is a really cool car, and it seems to have an image of the devil's car after this movie.
Watching the movie, you will be really drawn to this beautiful car's exterior, color, whitewall tires, and the unique interior of a car from the '60s. Seeing it completely destroyed and then restored is a joy to see. An American pop song from the '60s that plays in the background - it's spooky, like the ghost of Elvis.
There is news that this classic masterpiece will be remake in 2021. Of course I'm not going to watch it, but Hollywood seems to have run out of creativity beyond 2010. I just hope they make a Marvel series or an animation, or a rapid-fire spy movie or a Liam Neeson series where only the lines are fired, and please don't touch the old masterpieces.
