Como me gustó la temática del nuevo concurso en la comunidad, necesitaba compartir con ustedes una serie que me ví en 2 días, y me recordó mucho a mi infancia cuando nos reuníamos los primos en casa de mi abuela, y esa era la ocasión perfecta para que los mayores asustaran a los más pequeños con historias de terror. Esta serie tiene algo de eso, pero con narradores muchísimo más experimentados y cuyas historias parecen sacadas de la serie popular "Black Mirror". Pero para no hacer más larga la introducción, hoy hablaremos de: "Midnight club".

Since I liked the theme of the new contest in the community, I needed to share with you a series that I watched in 2 days, and it reminded me a lot of my childhood when we cousins would get together at my grandmother's house, and that was the perfect occasion for the older ones to scare the younger ones with horror stories. This series has some of that, but with much more experienced narrators and whose stories seem to be taken from the popular series "Black Mirror". Greg Harper(Jon Tenney) es un detective que está atravesando una crisis importante en su matrimonio, y como si eso fuera poco, ahora está involucrado en la investigación de un caso de desaparición de 2 niños en la ciudad, y que se relaciona con uno ocurrido hace unos años. Para empeorar la situación, en su casa están pasando cosas que no tienen explicación y los lleva a él y a su familia, a pensar que están perdiendo la cordura.

Por más que intenté recordar en qué otras producciones he visto a este actor, no se me vino ninguna a la mente, pero debo decir que me gustó su interpretación. Creo que su punto fuerte fué su capacidad para poner "poker face" a todas las situaciones 😅 Es decir, es difícil tratar de definir qué tipo de persona es o sus intenciones, porque siempre conserva esa cara de "quizás, tal vez, puede ser" jeje... Me gustó ese toque.

As much as I tried to remember in which other productions I have seen this actor, none came to my mind, but I must say that I liked his performance. I think his strong point was his ability to put "poker face" to all situations 😅 I mean, it is difficult to try to define what kind of person he is or his intentions, because he always keeps that face of "maybe, maybe, maybe" hehe .... I liked that touch.

Solo puedo decir: ¡Miren esa carita de loco! 😅 Ese personaje le quedó como anillo al dedo, porque no te muestran lo que es desde un principio, sino que poco a poco el va dejando ver su personalidad y sus verdaderas intenciones. Hay escenas en la que piensas "Este pana tiene problemas" jajaja... De las actuaciones más resaltantes de la película.

I can only say: Look at that crazy face! 😅 That character fit him like a glove, because they don't show you what he is from the beginning, but little by little he reveals his personality and his true intentions. There are scenes in which you think "This friend has problems" hahaha.... One of the most outstanding performances of the film.

¿Por qué recomiendo esta película?

Miren, soy una persona que no puede ver una película sin comentar lo que pienso en el proceso, así que sí, soy ese tipo de personas con la que nadie quiere ver nada porque siempre está adivinando qué va a pasar. Bueno, mis hermanas son así también y mi esposo se está volviendo al lado oscuro con nosotras, por lo que se pueden imaginar todas las teorías que lanzamos mientras ocurrían los diferentes eventos.

¿A dónde voy con todo esto? Bueno, que a pesar de que quisimos adivinar, ninguno logró acertar con lo que pasaría al final, ¿Saben lo difícil que es eso actualmente? Osea, la mayoría de las películas son muy predecibles y eso les resta algo de emoción, pero esta resultó ser diferente.

Look, I'm a person who can't watch a movie without commenting on what I think in the process, so yes, I'm that kind of person that no one wants to watch anything with because they're always guessing what's going to happen. Well, my sisters are like that too and my husband is turning to the dark side with us, so you can imagine all the theories we threw around as the different events were happening.

Where am I going with all this? Well, that even though we tried to guess, none of us managed to guess what would happen at the end, you know how hard that is nowadays? I mean, most movies are very predictable and that takes away some of the excitement, but this one turned out to be different.

La película te muestra una serie de acontecimientos que te lleva a sacar una conclusión precipitada, luego te da otra pista que resulta ser falsa y al final quedas con la cara de payaso con el desenlace 🤡 Tiene un aura de misterio y cosas paranormales, que no te aterran, pero si te hace sentir que por ahí van los tiros(como decimos coloquialmente). Sin embargo, también te da la sensación de estar en un drama policial, es decir, ambos ambientes coexisten muy bien en la trama.

Me quedó un buen sabor de boca con esta historia, a pesar de ser un tema bastante explotado por la industria del cine y la tv, le dieron un toque especial. No me sorprende para nada que haya pasado sin pena ni gloria en el cine, porque a muchas producciones que valen la pena les pasa eso.

The film shows you a series of events that leads you to draw a hasty conclusion, then gives you another clue that turns out to be false and at the end you are left with a clown face with the denouement 🤡 It has an aura of mystery and paranormal things, which does not terrify you, but it does make you feel that that's where the shots are going (as we say colloquially). However, it also gives you the feeling of being in a police drama, that is, both environments coexist very well in the plot.

I was left with a good taste in my mouth with this story, despite being a topic quite exploited by the film and TV industry, they gave it a special touch. It doesn't surprise me at all that it has passed without glory in the cinema, because that happens to many worthwhile productions.
