Welcome hivers to this new post, this week in 7th Art & More, we will be talking about a controversial and important topic: LGBT+, a community with a strong history, and that are part of our day to day. This week, I bring one of the first characters of this community to appear in TV series: Carol Willicks, a supporting character in Friends and that many will remember for her marriage to Ross. Here I tell you a little more about her.

Esta semana, traigo uno de los primeros personajes de esta comunidad en aparecer en series de televisión: Carol Willicks, un personaje secundario en Friends y que muchos recordarán por su matrimonio con Ross. Aquí le cuento un poco más.
Carol Willicks is the first wife of Ross Geller, whom she divorced right at the beginning of the series. She is also the mother of his son Ben, whom they conceived before she discovered that she is a lesbian and that she is in love with Susan, one of her friends with whom she later marries.

This character, among all the characters that have appeared in Friends, I loved it. Not only for the funny scenes he causes in the company of his partner, but also the way he accepts Ross and Rachel's fears, at some point. Besides, it not only shows us the beautiful part, it also shows us the fears that can be caused and the conflicts he has.

In Friends, I think there is no character that has led to so much emotionality and funny stories related to motherhood and the LGBT+ community than this one. The fact that she appeared, and that it wasn't for the purpose of making fun of her, but rather to show a reality that was being presented, and is still being presented, even if it was in just a few episodes, gave the series great value.
En Friends, creo que no hay un personaje que haya llevado a tanta emotividad y a historias graciosas relacionadas con la maternidad y la comunidad LGBT+ que este.
